My bet is the order is being rejected because there is no ammo in the distribution pipeline.
The government probably bought it all up.
All the guns I was interested in buying are out of stock. Me and my brothers were going to go shopping after Christmas and everything all of us was interested in is sold out. Some of the stores have updated their websites to explain that they could be out of stock for a long while. I am not even talking about any of the rifles on the ban list. People are going into these stores and just buying whatever is available at this point. It’s panic buying in some places.
Not true. Wal-Mart IS still stocking ammo, but it is selling so fast manufacturers can NOT supply to retail outlets.
Crap! I just bought some 45 ACP at Walmart. My wife asked me why I hadn’t bought double. She’s a wise woman.

walmart was low on ammo the last time i puchased there. it could be that they just can’t get any right now (due to obama’s threats). however, walmart needs to be watched closely and rebuked (boycotted) if necessary.

This is true. I worked at a Walmart before. All ordering is computer generated. That little handheld thing you see employees carrying around can tell you everything about the item just by scanning the UPC. It's called a telxon.
Ammo is listed on their web site and available at my local store per their web site.
It would be a crazy decision to make. if they are so afraid of Holder as to do this they’re a risky investment.

Methinks Walmart is more apolitical.
No point in ordering ammo when it’s sold out and massively back ordered everywhere. If cops can’t get it, a discount retailer won’t.
Department managers don't know from one week to the next what'll show up for them to stock the shelves with.

223 getting hard to find but I just bought 3 boxes of .40 cal FMJ and 3 boxes of 40 cal JHP at my Walmart today in Florida.
Nor do I. I’ve heard this same rumor repeatedly over the last few days, almost word for word. Conveniently, they never have a link to anything official. I have a hard time believing Walmart would drop all of its ammo orders at a time when people are buying like crazy.
And why should’nt they? EBT shoppers care less about the prices since they are spending your money and mine. More profit potential for Wal-Mart, who is in the business to make profits, not philanthropy or justice. I noticed the same trend at Grocery stores. The EBT shoppers buy $200+ at a time and have their carts loaded and overflowing. We only buy sale items and bargains.
I work there. Ammo came in on Thursday truck. Two things about a manual order.. it will say warehouse out if that is the case or the store itself can be on “no manual order” status. The second one is the most likely case. After Christmas manual orders are pretty much taboo. Store needs to clean up the backroom so it relies solely on point of sale ordering. If you notice a lot of empty sidecounters, POS ordering is the reason. As far as catering to EBT sales.. yes of course. 47% of grocery dollars are now supplied that way.
On vacation but I will check as soon as I go back, but nothing has been said about cutting of ammo in Ohio stores.
The Democrats knew many months ago that if Obama got reelected that gun control was going to be a top priority during this term. They knew there would be a run on guns an ammo and that is one of the main reasons that every agency bought millions of rounds.
Time to boycott Wallmart.

If they enter into any premature agreement with the government they will be losing a giant piece of their business as gun owners tend to be very loyal with their family purse.

You are absolutely right! Everything on the shelves is scanned into their computers and when it is scanned at check out it is recorded and reordered, if stock is getting low, and the corporate office decides to continue selling the product it will be reordered. It is a little more complicated than what I just described but no employee at a Wal-Mart store can just pick up a phone and place an order. Heck even the Temperatures of their coolers and freezers are monitored and controlled by their corporate offices.
