What about the gang bangers? Aren’t you going to take guns from the criminals? Or are you going to let them keep their illegal guns so they can waltz right in and take what they want from the honest, productive members of society.

You can hold a commercial pilot’s license with flight instructor privileges when you are 18.

My 6 and 9 year old daughters, and 4 year old nephew all already have their own .22. Very responsible kids, and probably know know more about firearms safety than this moron.

I got my first shotgun (.410) and rifle (.22) at age nine. I still have it. My son got his first at age 7. He is now 19, and a responsible gun owner himself and a heckuva great shot.

These nanny staters are idiots. With training, 19-year-olds can be responsible armed citizens.

Oh really, mr. lilly white ass. I don’t think any n-aged person on food stamps should get to vote. Want more? Remove voting rights for anyone with an obamaphone.

If you are old enough to be drafted and serve, you can own a gun. Period. You also should be old enough to drink alcohol. This is from an old, old sailor.

the average age of a rifle grunt in Vietnam was 19. I would assume that is true in today’s military as well. If as Blooming idiot suggests that at 19 they are not mature enough to have a weapon then the miltary should be rejecting them and they should not be voting either.

I received my 4-10 as a christmas gift when I was nine years old. It was to mean countless deaths of squirrels, rabbits, and quail but no humans were injured in the process. I joined the army when I turned 17 and the provided me with an M-16 to train with in case i needed to defend myself from foreigners with murderous intentions. It is the same old story, you are old enough to carry a weapon for Uncle Sugar but not old enough to be given adult priveleges. Now the statists want to torture the facts until they confess. May they all perish in the fires of hell. they should reserve a section with extra fire for politicians and journos.

(From the title):”Mayor Bloomberg Thinks 19-Year-Olds Aren’t Mature Enough to Own a Gun...? “

Tell that to the Fed who is arming 18 - 24 yr olds as part of FEMA.
They have military weapons ,military uniforms , and military vehicles that surpass what is currently available in war zones.
And you wonder why the Fed ordered 270 million rounds of hollow point ammo /sarc

Well maybe not 19 year olds in NYC most of which wouldn’t know which end the bullet comes out of but most kids out here in “fly-over country” learned that by the time we got out of diapers.

One way all of this is sure to play out is deep blue states like New York and California will pass a whole new set of laws to disarm or otherwise restrict honest taxpayers' access to firearms and ammunition. These states will eagerly spend their money to deny their populations of their 2nd Amendment rights.

Deep red states, on the other hand, will recruit and attract all of the major firearms manufacturers to their states while fighting any type of federal attempts to put restrictions on the 2nd amendment rights of their citizens. They will spend their money to ensure 2nd amendment rights are not infringed.

See where this is going?

I’d love to see your documentation for that. The average age of a US Vietnam War fatality was 23, the median about 20.5.

The elites only see what they want to.

Many 19 year old are already fighting and dying for our country.

This man is a joke.
