Obama Closing Air Defense System on U.S./Mexico Border: Texas & America Vulnerable to Attack
Texas Conservative Republican News ^ | January 18, 2013 | David Bellow

URGENT: Call your Congressman and Senators immediately and demand that the recent budget cuts do not affect the security of America’s borders. The Federal Government wastes billions of dollars on things they should not even be involved in, but securing our country’s borders is one of the jobs that the federal government is actually supposed to do!

Obama has always pushed massive cuts in the military as part of any budget cuts he will accept as part of any fiscal deals. Obama seems to be getting what he wants and it will leave AMERICA’s borders vulnerable to attacks and other infiltrations.

Air Force’s Air Defense Radar Systems along U.S./Mexico Border will SHUTDOWN on March 15th, 2013

On January 17th, 2013, Exelis Systems Corporation sent out an email (see email below) to all of its employees informing them that on March 15th, 2013 all TARS Air Defense Mission Operations will permanently cease. These TARS Air Defense sites were under the control of the United States Air Force. On January 15th, 2013, the Air Force informed Exelis (the defense contractor running the TARS sites) that the TARS sites will be shut down. Exelis tried to then negotiate with the Department of Homeland Security to see if they would take over the vital project, but it seems as though those negotiations have failed.

What does this mean?

This means the Southern Border of the United States of America will be more vulnerable to attack from low flying aircraft, low altitude missiles, and other infiltrations such as smuggling.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, one Exelis employee had this to say about the announced closure of the TARS sites:

“Not only will this closure mean hundreds of people will be out of jobs, but it also means our borders will not be safe, especially along the remote U.S. Mexico Border like in Texas. These defense radars detect low flying aircraft infiltrating our borders. Without these defense radars, low flying aircraft will go undetected. It will be open season for any drug/gun/slave smugglers, terrorists flying in with nukes low altitude missiles, or even a full scale low elevation invasion/attack against America.”

According to the Air Force’s website, the Tethered Aerostat Radar System, or TARS, is an aerostat-borne, surveillance program. Using the aerostat as a stationary airborne platform for a surveillance radar, the system is capable of detecting low altitude aircraft at the radar's maximum range by mitigating curvature of the earth and terrain masking limitations. TARS provides a detection and monitoring capability along the United States-Mexico border, the Florida Straits, and a portion of the Caribbean in support of the Department of Defense Counterdrug Program.

The primary agencies using the TARS surveillance data include U.S. Northern Command in support of Customs and Border Protection (Air and Marine Operations Center and Caribbean Air and Marine Operations Center) and U.S. Southern Command in support of Joint Interagency Task Force-South. In addition to its counterdrug mission, TARS surveillance data also supports North American Aerospace Defense Command's air sovereignty mission for the continental United States.

A letter to the employees of the program is at the link for the article.

Obozo like all Fascists will try to punish any who oppose his dictatorship. He has alread learned to hate Texas and we despise him.

Closing this radar system will make the TX/MX border much more open for drug runners and illegal immigrants.

So... this makes it easier to buy one of the BATF's F&F firearms without a background check from the guys that were given them in the first place....

Then there is nothing left for Texas then to secede so that it can take care of its own security.

We are capable of doing that anyway.

If any Texan suggested dropping air defense and no-fly over DC we’d sure wake up in prison.

So how much does it cost to run it and could Texas take it over? Maybe concerned folks across the country could contribute to funding it and tell the Feds to go to h—l!

Maybe we got rods of the gods and the sat component and don’t need radar anymore. It could happen!

The drug cartels are absolutely kicking our asses with ultra lights even with the radars. I can’t imagine what things would be like without them.

There is a better chance to charge the traitors in DC if Texas were to secede. It will wake up the rest of the nation to the fact that something is insiduously wrong with the way things are transpiring in our country.

Start the snowball rolling and hopefully other red states will follow. Let the blue states join Europe if they want to.

First order of the day for the Republic of Texas: terminate UN membership — we do not need outside influence in our internal affairs.
Second Order: If you are not happy with the way Texas conducts its affairs, we wish you happiness, God’s blessing, but get the hell out of here.

I know, I know, I just made myself into another dictator. But the Republic of Texas, in my idealistic dreams, will not only have a Bill of Rights but also a Bill of Responsibilities, something that was sorely lacking during the foundation of this great nation.

Simply put. Bambi’s gun grab isn’t going easy for him when it comes to Texas.

Use your imagination for the rest of the story.

Perry better get a State militia going and get ready. Bammy is making his move.

Interesting that out of all the money the Defense Department gets, he’s decided to cut homeland security. Protecting the homeland is one of the few legitmate functions of the DOD. Seems he could cut some of that foreign aide to the Muslim Brotherhood before he decided to weaken homeland defense.

He’s in cahoots with the cartels he armed. The cartels are in cahoots with jihadists over the border.

I would like to see a volunteer Texas State Militia organized, but we do already have the Texas Rangers who are quite effective. hee hee hee

But the State Militia is a serious proposal, which I do not see necessary yet.

I think Obozo’s gun legislation is going down in flames in the Congress and possibly in the Senate. NRA is not pussy cat and the Tea Party is not dead. Especially in Texas.

And AG Gregg Abbott is quite capable at filing lawsuits against DC. (He needs to be the next Governor of TX)

Gun confiscation? NOT going to happen in TX. Can you imagine an attempt? hee hee hee (stupidest idea I have ever heard)

The traitors in DC are there because there were enough truly stupid people who either voted for nobama or did not vote against nobama (our 3 million so-called conservative purist friends). Nothing is going to happen as long as “they” are perceived as the majority.

Whether or not these liberals know what they are doing poking Texas with a stick is immaterial. We are rapidly approaching that “Line in the Sand”.

Maybe he seriously thinks Texas will just cowtow.

Irrelevant what he thinks. We don't need DC and DC needs Texas.

Past that, nothing else really matters.

And if it were to get so bad, there would be a lot more exit the Feds than just TX.

OK what you are saying is that we have something better than the TARS systems.

I think you’re right, although it might not be the “rods from God” specifically.

obumer is the very definition of trader...What he is doing to our country and Constitution he is doing willfully, with the malice of forethought...He truly should, and I believe really could, be impeached and arrested for treason..!! We need to find a leader to come forward and stand right in the face of this man...If someone did that, our nation would love them for it...!!

Anything taking its place?

Maybe, those systems are 25 years old at least; see the air force site:

With the shale oil profits maybe Texas can build something new :)
