College Girls Looking for “Sugar Daddies” Abound
kidfocused ^ | October 16, 2011 | Julie Samrick

Watch out parents of young women, there’s a new Satan in town looking to tempt and then profit from your daughters. The problem is, there isn’t only just one. There is a plethora of on-line dating sites, calling themselves arrangement sites, where young women looking to pay down college debt are matched to older, wealthy donors. What is not advertised, but is clearly understood by reading young women’s confessionals in a recent Huffington Post piece about “sugar daddies” and the financially beleaguered “sugar baby” girls, is that these arrangements are for paid sex, and the industry is booming.

One college student, “Taylor,” describes how she earned $350 for an afternoon of sex from an older sugar daddy she’d never previously met.

The article goes on to describe the win-win trend of these couplings and the scores of people who sign up for them. 35% are college students on sites like arrangementseekers.com, who advertise upfront only that they are looking to pay down debt.

Noel Biderman is the 39-year-old founder and CEO of Avid Life Media. He’s also the creator of several of these arrangement websites, including one for married people looking to have affairs. He says that most members are registering online from large cities like New York and Los Angeles, where there are higher standards of living and more expensive student loans. Students from NYU make up the most sugar babies, while students from UCLA and UC Berkeley are close behind.

A decade ago it may have made sense to say, “Hold your daughters close; send them to small, private colleges, away from this kind of exposure.” But as many of us know, just flip on the television set and watch 10 minutes of MTV or VH1 (which don’t even play music anymore) and you’ll see the pressure and warped reality high school and college aged kids face today, where viewers quickly become immune to binge drinking, casual sex, teen motherhood and overall shallow thinking.

By the way, Biderman admits unashamedly that he advertises his sites on MTV and VH1, since both television stations appeal to the demographic he covets.

And the girls, the “sugar babies,” who are making it all happen? They are certainly not victims in all this. I contest this is not only about falling victim to debt and a weak economy, as is offered as explanation in the article. Student loan debt has been an inevitable part of young peoples’ lives for decades. No, what has changed in our culture is that increasingly the prevalent messages to young people, to all of us even, is that casual sex and the lure of money buys happiness. What is truly unfortunate is that these girls are making bad decisions with these lies in their minds to justify their actions.

When, after the train ride home, Taylor breaks down in tears and says the experience with the older man for $350 made her feel “dirty,” she should’ve listened to that voice, to her conscience. Instead, she is now back online looking for another sugar daddy arrangement, as a new college semester has begun.

I actually blame the girls in this matter even more than the older men. If the girls weren’t there, the men wouldn’t have anyone to pay. And those girls who say that casual sex is no big thing are lying, by the way. At least there are some girls who admit to how it makes them feel about themselves afterwards.

These girls also have friends who contribute to, or at the very least condone, what they’re doing. Peer pressure is one of the most powerful forces in a young person’s life. I wish there were more young girls who would have the courage to tell their friends that what they’re doing is wrong in this case.

No wonder the rate of married couples has plunged in the past 20 years. Why get married when one can have sex whenever? Why get married when one can have a baby and raise the baby without a partner? Why get married when a girl sees men as greedy opportunists, and not as loving partners?

Most everything young people see in the media today sends the message that it’s OK to have recreational sex. So I really shouldn’t be surprised after all that sex for money is the next leap.

“The Modern Daddy” is described as:

You are always respectful and generous. You only live once, and you want to date the best. Some call you a mentor, sponsor or benefactor. But no matter what your desires may be, you are brutally honest about who you are, what you expect and what you offer.

And the “Goal Seeking Sugar Baby”:

Attractive, intelligent, ambitious and goal oriented. Sugar Babies are students, actresses, models or girls & guys next door. You know you deserve to date someone who will pamper you, empower you, and help you mentally, emotionally and financially.

The benefits are simple: prospective sugar daddies surf the site and select the sugar baby (male or female) whose price they can afford. Monthly rates average $1,000 to $3,000. Most of the sugar babies are women between the ages of 18 and 26, and KTLA breaks down the member numbers as follows: UCLA, 180; USC, 70; UC Riverside, 69; UC Irvine, 64; and Cal State Northridge, 59.

” Why get married when a girl sees men as greedy opportunists, and not as loving partners? “

A “loving partner” wouldn’t take this bargain. The “men” that do are pigs and should be ashamed of themselves. What would their mothers say?

Not much difference in comparison to a prostitute and her johns.Younger females want the $ and the older males want the sex. They are both using each other and its quite immoral.

Very dangerous, they are setting themselves up for addictions too, they are rewarding their brains with cash for deplorable behavior, each time they submit, the voice will become quieter, they will become numb to the negative effects, jaded, a slow death, then when they get older, if they ever marry or have kids, it will rush over them like a tide and haunt them for the rest of their lives, so very sad, no love, just sex, meaningless, selfish indulgence.

See what happens when ‘they’ raise the minimum wage and the part timers (college students) are no longer hired AND the work hours cut back to 30 to keep from PAYING health care, there are only so many ‘Gentlemans Clubs’ sooooo, why should they ‘give it away’ to their college chums when some geezer willing to pay in an afternoon that would take a week or so to earn on the open (part time) market?

I believe the site in question handles both sexes; prostitution is not just men vs. women.

These days, both sexes are just as guilty; regardless of what mother may think

Thank you.

Old men want young women to have sex with.

From before time began, old men would pay such women for sex.

Gold pieces, dowrys, fast cars, roles in movies, diamonds, you name it.

If a woman has no sense of her self worth, she'll sell herself for these trinkets.

If they are raised correctly, women will wait for a decent man who will marry them.

Imagine some good man finding out that his soon to be bride sold her body for $.

I know what I would say. The answer is no.

Honestly, I’m surprised there hasn’t been a huge push for legalizing prostitution.
If a woman has a “choice” whether or not she can have her offspring killed why should she not also have the “choice” about who she allows to have access to her body and how much she should charge them for that access.

no, women having sex with other women do not need any birth control, which is what made Sandra Fluke an even bigger joke than she already was. It’s also what made Rush’s attempt at humor fall so flat. Sandra Fluke as the face of heterosexual excess was too much for anybody to take. She’s the very embodiment of lesbian bed death (look it up if you must, but be forewarned, it ain’t pretty). She’s so obviously a man-hating harridan that none of it could be taken seriously in a sane world. Good for the left that the media-created world we live in is not at all sane.

So a very small minority of women from very liberal colleges are high paid hookers. This is typical of the media. Create a theme, advertise it and convince the public this is the new normal. I suppose it sells papers, but what happens when the small number of weirdos decide to act on it?

See Sandy Hook.

This is how the media destroy lives. The marginal people who will fall for this and the overall society whose moral compass is being kicked out of whack. It’s the continuing thread of social destruction at the heart of liberalism.

‘Sugar Daddy’ Busted Trying To Meet Up With 17-Year-Old

DeKALB, Ill. (CBS) — Is it prostitution, or just two people developing a relationship beneficial to both?

Some websites help so-called “sugar daddies” hook up with “sugar babies.” Now a New Jersey man faces charges after cops say they caught him on his way to a rendezvous with a 17-year-old girl.

CBS 2’s Kristyn Hartman spoke with the young woman, who asked not to be identified. She disputes the use of the term prostitution.

“They are like mentors,” she says of the men she has met. “I learned so much. I traveled so much. I really got great experiences from them.”

CBS 2 asked if sex was involved in the encounters.

“There is sex involved,” she said.

And the young woman says there’s payment – in her case, about $6,000 or $7,000 per month.

She finds her “sugar daddies” on SeekingArrangement.com. Earlier this year, when she was still 17, she says she met Nicholas Cereste. According to prosecutors, the 47 year-old took a cab from Chicago to Northern Illinois University, where the teenage freshman was waiting for him.

The alleged plan was to take a cab all the way back to a Chicago hotel, but police found the pair first.

“This is sex for money — it’s prostitution via the Internet,” DeKalb State’s Attorney Clay Campbell said Friday. “There’s no question about it.”

Now Cereste, who was in custody and bonded out Friday, faces two felony counts.

“I’m not too upset about it because I didn’t really know him,” the young woman told Hartman.

She says they were at the beginning of their arrangement and she lied about her age.

“Clearly we have a problem when we have a 17 year-old on a website selling sexual services to businessmen,” Campbell, the prosecutor, said.

The CEO of the Website that allegedly helped Cereste to find the teen defended “sugar-daddy” dating.

“We’re extremely clear that our website is really for people to form mutually beneficial relationships,” Brandon Wade told Hartman.

The state’s attorney says it’s not just about alleged prostitution. He said he worries that a young girl will go on a cab ride and never return.

Advice: First Date With A Potential Sugar Daddy
Leave a comment

Q: hey!! i have my first actual meetup with a “sugar daddy” tomorrow and i’m terrified out of my mind!! do you have any advice? what should we talk about? how should i act?

A: So hopefully you’ve done some google searching on him (reverse image search, googled his email, name and number) and he checks out okay and you guys have agreed to meet in a public place.

The most important thing is to try and remain calm and be yourself. It’s a little nerve wracking meeting up with someone in person that you met off the internet for the first time, but I guarantee after the first few minutes the initial shock will wear off, so to speak. He’s asked you out on a date because he’s already interested in you so far and that’s half the battle.

I’m not sure if you’ve been on “normal” dates before but do as best you can to treat it like any other date with a regular guy.. Or like dinner with a friend you haven’t seen in forever, if that’s more relevant to you. He will probably guide the conversation and just do your best to answer his questions, but don’t over supply him with information about yourself. Just tell him enough to want to learn more. Whatever he asks you, after you answer make sure to say “and how about you?” so that it isn’t one sided like you’re on an interview. As for subjects to discuss, well what’s going on with you? You can talk about what you’re studying in school, movies, the weather, his job, if something interesting happens on the way to meet him up you can talk about that, you can get in to an entire conversation about what’s on the menu if you’re getting dinner and discuss food you like. Keep it light and casual. No weird dramatic stories, no failures or insecurities.

This is a simple way for you guys to get to know one another. Don’t put too much thought in to making a good impression and don’t be scared that if you don’t say or do the right things he’ll hate you and never want to see you again. You may not even like him! This is not a life or death situation and the worst that happens is there’s no second date. So what, big deal, there’s 50 more where he came from. Good luck!

ASK WENDY:

“I Have a Boyfriend, but I Want a Sugar Daddy, Too”

It’s time again for Shortcuts. For every question, I’ll give my advice in three sentences or less, because sometimes the answer to a person’s question is so obvious and the need to hear it so great, being as clear and frank as possible is simply the best way to go. Today we discuss sugar babies, crushing on the bossman, and getting “closure.”

I am in a committed relationship with my boyfriend but at the same time I’m thinking about having a sugar daddy to help me out financially. Obviously, if I have a sugar daddy, it would have to be completely discreet, but at the same time isn’t that cheating? If I did have a sugar daddy, should I tell my boyfriend? Or what’s done behind one closed door shouldn’t be surfaced through to another? Am I crazy to seek out a sugar daddy that could help me out? - Confused Sugar Baby

Yes, prostituting yourself out while in a serious relationship with a guy who is unaware of your extracurricular activities is, indeed, cheating. How about maybe getting a job waiting tables?
