Poor old Chris Columbus. Generations of schoolchildren were taught to praise his exploits, which after all included the discovery of America, according to The College Fix. But lately things have taken an ugly turnand his reputation has suffered irreparable damage, thanks to a claque of revisionist historians who have slowly but surely knocked him off his pedestal.
The latest blow to Columbuss heroic status came from Arizona State University, Tempe, which decided to change Columbus Day to Indigenous People Day. The switch was apparently long overdue, since enlightened souls in the city of Berkeley had launched the first such observance in 1992.
However, Roger Clegg of the Center for Equal Opportunity believes this might just be another example of political correctness run wild. We should be able to celebrate both without denigrating either, said Clegg, adding that replacing Columbus Day with Indigenous People Day . . .is a silly anti-Western statement and a celebration of fashionable victimhood.

**Dont look now but they are back. (in spain and everywhere else)**
Unfortunately that is true.
You crow about being Indian and ignore Indian flaws which were aplenty and continue to this day
And then indulge in your own bigotry
What makes you any better than that you despise
Indians....i have Indian blood...a hair.....my wife....much more so
But fact is Indians are simple victims of history and geography
Nothing more...tragic yes in many ways but that has been a facet of the human condition since recorded history 6000 years
Indians have no monopoly on it, we all come from someone somewhere who was displace from Gaul to Danelaw to the Benin bight to Narragansett or the Klamath
Human migration and transgression is a universal reality
Your racist post didn’t deserve one either, but I reached out, thinking you might be worth the effort.

Ward Churchill supported this and used to participate in the Denver Columbus Day protests before they petered out.
The (Red)StarTribune webpage, majority of comments are against the change. My wife, who is usually pretty non-political, was more irate than I was. She wants to move to North Dakota now. I told, it’s not the right time. We’ll know when this state is completely lost, though we’re getting pretty damned close.
