When They Come For Your Guns, You Will Turn Them Over

Posted By Jim Karger On August 13, 2012

In Featured,international living,Legislation,The Daily Reckoning

“When they come for my gun, they will have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands,” is a common refrain I often hear from the Neo-Cons when there is a threat, credible or otherwise, that the US government is going to take their firearms.

And, when I hear this crazy talk, I agree with them openly. “You are right. They will pry your gun from your cold dead hands,” which I often follow with the question, “And where will that leave you except face down in a pool of your own blood [in] the middle of the street, just another dead fool resisting the State?”

This is not a question they are comfortable with, if only because the intent of their saber-rattling was to imply they would fight to keep their weapons, and win.

Nice fantasy. It’s not happening.

If the federal government decides to disarm the public, and when the increasingly-militarized rolls down your street after a not-so-subtle request that you kindly turn over your firearms and ammunition “for the common good,” it will be nothing less than suicide by cop to do anything other than what you are told.

The militarization of US police forces is ongoing and escalating. Many cities and towns now own tanks, armed personnel carriers, even attack helicopters, and almost all are outfitted with military weapons not available to the general public.

And, it is not just your hometown cops who are getting new boy-toys. The military itself is buying up weaponry not just for use in the current or next scheduled war, but to deal with the likes of you, ..

When they take the guns, it's because they're planning on killing you anyway.

The choice is to die in a pool of your own blood on the streets, or starve to death in one of their camps or on one of their marches.

One thing to keep in mind: there are more of us than there are of them.

When and if they ever tried to round up and confiscate guns and ammo, they will be rounding up people too.

When the left tells you they will exterminate 25 million people that can’t be reeducated you better believe them.

I think the author is sorely mistaken. Many people are not stupid. Far from it. After the first few shootouts, smart people with guns will get to work. The tyranists will not be safe anywhere. Neither will their homes and family.

Mr. Karger is under the impression that I’ll be quietly sitting in my livingroom watching American Idol when I come out guns a-blazing.

Us “cold, dead handers” will, by necessity, take more of them with us in much the same way the minutemen fought for their freedom.

Also, Mr. Karger is an “enemy of and to the Constitution” and should be held before the public as such. (Conservatives really do need to be bold and vocal about pointing out such “enemies of the Constitution”)

How Will They Confiscate Your Guns?
by John A. Sutter
in California

For decades I have heard gun owners claim that the government would never be able to confiscate our firearms because the government would lose too many men. The implication being, of course, that gun owners would actively resist confiscation, even to the point of shooting back. But I believe this thinking is outdated and doesn’t align very well with reality. But before you tell me how big your honor guard in Hell will be when that day comes, let’s think about how the government could really do it.

Suppose, for the sake of argument, the government bans all civilian possession of firearms at the end of this month. Congress passes a total ban and the President cuts his own re-election throat by signing it. Gun owners get some grace period to turn them in, even beyond the deadline, without being charged with a crime. If we use Australia and Britain as examples there will still be a significant number of firearms that are not turned in. Some estimates put the Australian turn-in at less than 25% and the British faired only about 28%. But Australians and the British have long been used to obeying almost every gun control law. Not so the Americans. When laws are passed that we don’t like, we bite. We scratch. We vote. So here we sit after the guns have been collected and the amnesties have run out. Now what? .

Not a very imaginative article... In the smallest state in the union I could hide a dozen rifles and 10,000 rounds of ammo so they’d never be found other than by me.

The author is a clown who just doesn't get it! he's the type of sap with no core convictions. Not all of us believe that there's nothing worth dying for. My liberty is worth my life. I'd rather fight than surrender my liberty to any government. The only reason that the government wants to take guns in the first place is so that we won't be able to fight back later.

That makes it sound like being a slave to the state is somehow "better" than being dead ... which is cowardice. More than half a million people died fighting in the Civil War. Having dealt with slavery themselves, they knew "freedom" was worth risk of death. Better to be face down in a pool of blood fighting for freedom than enslaved. Are we truly so willing to hold our arms at the ready for shackling? I am not.

I think the mistake the author makes is that the “resisting” will come when they are marching down the street with in full body armor and swat vehicles. I agree that moment resisting is probably suicide, the best thing to do at the moment is...disappear (along with your guns). Look at Iraq and Afghanistan for what the “resistance” will look like, the insurgents for the most part didn't conduct full scale attacks on well armored platoons. They struck when a few soldiers were driving back to base in a poorly armored Humvee. The resistance will take the same form here, people will figure out were any law enforcement that participates in these raids live and will “strike” when they are lying in bed thinking they are perfectly safe in their disarmed police state. Or perhaps when a bunch of them are off duty, yucking it up at a local bar. You get the idea. It's called asymmetrical warfare, it's nasty and not particularly honorable but against a much better armed opponent sometimes its the only choice.

Hmmm....did you mean “tyrants”, or have you coined a new word which seems to mean “those who enable tyrants, work for them, and see their own self-interest in so doing”.

“Tyrannists”.... I like that. And it’s true they will not be safe, unless the gubmint turns military installations into secure green zones for them.

Lenin was of the opinion that it was permissible to murder 90 percent of the population in order to achieve a political goal.

Let’s see...

90% of 313 million is 281.7. That’s just a wee bit more than 25 million.

MANY people will turn them in because the left has successfully feminized our culture. That’s why they attacked the culture! To make most of us into wussies that are scared to do anything ‘politically incorrect’. Its stunning how effective and successful cultural marxism has been. The founders in the Frankfurt school would be proud.

Now the good news is that we have a lot of men that have not been altered by the culture that will fight this. I think we still have enough numbers to win that fight.

The Revolution was fought by only about 25 or 30% of the population at the time. Back then many people sympathized with the brits because a lot of people had family and business connections in England. And a lot of others were fence sitters waiting to see who was going to win so they could get back to normal life. I think the numbers are about the same today..

There was another Free’per poster yesterday that stated - it won’t be the govt coming in physically to destroy our values - the will sow conceit among neighbors using one against the other... and I thought to myself - just like the Communist did in Russia - just like the Nazis youth did to their parents - they first cause a great divide throughout society - and allow society to rid itself of guns - those that would stand up against govt. oppression - and when the numbers are low enough - the tyrant (who ever that may be at the time) will finalize the plans.

My opinion on this:
The only counter to this is to establish relationships with your neighbors - find out who supports the liberals and who supports conservative/traditional capitalism — educate your children now - either before they o to the public school system or as they are in it - to counter the liberal agenda being taught there — it must be a concentrated effort on all of us not to allow this division to carry on — it must be a daily effort — because we all know - 0bama and his ilk have several grass root and local level organizations do the same thing daily - it’s a longevity operation that we must be willing to make - until we can clean this rift raft out of public service and elected office...and dime them out for what they are!

And yes - we must maintain our firearms - teach our youth the respect for such weapons - and illustrate why we must stay armed — pointing at the evening news is a great place to start the lesson — the “Tanked for 0bama” journalism is a learning example of how news stories can be used to tell a lie over and over — until everyone believes it...(which is why I have a Roku box and no cable!)

I might be dead, but I guaranty I will have taken a couple of them with me.

There are more of us than there are of them. Even if you just take us hard-liners, we outnumber them 10:1. All of us gun owners? 100:1.

They will run out of enforcers well before we run out of resisting gun owners.

And this scenario only supposes that they come for us at home. If they start rounding up gun owners, most of us will be in the wind within a half hour of the word going out. Things will get "exciting" after that...

There are about 270 million guns in the hands of American civilians. That’s close to one per person. Even if 20% fought while the other 80 sat back and did nothing that’s about 62.6 million very angry people that the States and Feds would have to deal with.

In a hypothetical world where a tyranical space alien political party casts aside the Constitution, the key is not to fight them when they come for your guns, but rather to begin fighting when they come for you neighbors’ guns, and don’t stop fighting.

An organized and alerted populace would make every road a shooting gallery for these aliens and their followers. And where is the green zone for these gun-confiscators? Helicopters must land, vehicles must park, alien agents must sleep. There is no time-out, no after-5 time, no taking off the badge.

The only hope that these alien creatures would have, would be to cower Americans one house at a time.

Where I live you can sell guns and ammo over the internet classifieds. It means they don’t know who still has the gun they registered and who now owns it. Without a search warrant, how do they “find” the guns of a person who says he sold them years ago?

Aye, fight and you may die. Run, and you’ll live... at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin’ to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they’ll never take... Your comment reminded me of the John Adams comment about not risking your life, but risking your “comfort”. And americans have a LOT of comfort to risk. Thing is, if they EVER required that everyone turn in all their guns by a certain date, a large portion of gun owners would realize that the next step would be to take away their comfort anyway, so they would, basically have nothing to lose.

And it would make this statement from “101 things to do before the revolution” obsolete:

“America is at that awkward stage where it is too late to work within the system and too early to shoot the bast**ds.”

Lies and the State

by Elizabeth Cameron

I know there are some honorable people in government. I have even met some. This article is not about them. It is about those politicians, hereinafter referred to as “the government”, who aid and abet the proliferation of politically expedient lies in a thousand sneaky ways. They would appear to be the majority, or things would be better than they are.

I often hear questions like these: Why doesn’t the government address the issue of the link between psychotropic drugs and mass shootings? Why do they talk only about gun control as a means to “stop the violence”? Why don’t they get it? Why are they so dumb?

Listen: They are not dumb. They know exactly what they are doing. And when it comes to mass shootings, despite all the sympathetic things they say, they actually find such crises useful. “Problem-reaction-solution” is the traditional tool used by authoritarian regimes to expand their grip. This was once affirmed by Rahm Emmanuel, Obama’s former White House Chief of Staff, when he said, in a rare moment of candor, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that it’s an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before.”

Interesting point -

If you are facing a situation where a heavily armed squad is at your door - demanding a search/turn-in of any “contraband.” There is only one choice - give them anything that you have there. and survive.

However -

If you learn that such sweeps are happening, you can take measures before the squad arrives at your door.

- don’t be there when they knock
- have no contraband there when they knock
- take the fight to them, at their homes, and their bosses homes, more importantly, at a time of your choosing.

The author is right about one thing - you do not want a firefight with a heavily armed squad at your own house.
