DUmmie FUnnies 01-31-12 (KOmmies Suddenly Discover That ObamaCare STINKS!!!)
DUmmie FUnnies ^ | January 31, 2013 | KOmmies & PJ-Comix

Posted on 01/31/2013 4:08:34 PM PST by PJ-Comix

“But we have to pass the [health care] bill so that you can find out what’s in it....”

So promised Nancy Pelousi and now that the KOmmies have had a chance to finally see what is in ObamaCare, they are in a state of shock since they have FINALLY discovered that ObamaCare STINKS bigtime as you can see in this THREAD, "Obama and Dems may have jost lost their most stalwart supporter with this Obamacare ruling." Gee! And you are only just NOW finding out how horrible ObamaCare is? Don't worry, I'm sure you can find a way to blame the Republicans for foisting ObamaCare upon you. So let us now watch the KOmmies moan and groan about the ObamaCare they used to ardently desire in Bolshevik Red, while the commentary of your humble correspondent, wondering if ObamaCare will cover Pelousi's botox treatments, in in the [barackets]:

Obama and Dems may have jost lost their most stalwart supporter with this Obamacare ruling

[Too bad the fine print was at the bottom of page 1724 of the 2000+ page ObamaCare bill.]

I was a stalwart all through the past four years plus, never wavering when others jumped on and off the bandwagon. But this NYT article just crushed me like a grape:

[A crushed grape and now you "wine" about ObamaCare.]

The Obama administration adopted a strict definition of affordable health insurance on Wednesday that will deny federal financial assistance to millions of Americans with modest incomes who cannot afford family coverage offered by employers.

In deciding whether an employer’s health plan is affordable, the Internal Revenue Service said it would look at the cost of coverage only for an individual employee, not for a family. Family coverage might be prohibitively expensive, but federal subsidies would not be available to help buy insurance for children in the family.

The policy decision came in a final regulation interpreting ambiguous language in the 2010 health care law.

[SURPRISE!!! There is no "affordable" in the Affordable Care Act.]

I had been banking on being able to finally get health care starting January 1, 2014. Three days over the past few years have been especially meaningful (after, of course, Election Night '08 and the January 2009 inauguration): the day the PPACA law passed, the day the SCOTUS mostly upheld it, and this past Election Day (which seemed to seal its prospects against ever being repealed, though at the moment I'm less sure of that).

[You forgot to include the meaningful day when you suffered ObamaCare sticker shock.]

My wife works as a primary school special ed teacher. Her job provides decent insurance for her with no premium. To add me and our kids to the policy, though, would cost $577 a month out of a paycheck that right now is only $2400 a month, take home, and does not stretch super far as it is. This is just plain unaffordable for us. Yet the news is, we are shit out of luck.

[Welcome to the UNAFFORDABLE Care Act.]

Almost insulting are the paltry breadcrumbs found in the "silver lining":

Under the law, people who go without insurance will generally be subject to tax penalties. In a separate proposed regulation issued on Wednesday, the Internal Revenue Service said that the uninsured children and spouse of an employee would be exempt from the penalties if the cost of coverage for the entire family under an employer’s plan was more than 8 percent of household income.

So rather than helping me get my family covered, you just won't punish us because we can't afford it? Thank you Obama.

[Yup! You sure are sh*t out of luck.]

Democrats had better be careful. It looks like the Pubs might be right on what a clusterf*ck this will be.

[Remember, NOT ONE "Pub" voted for ObamaCare.]

Indeed. I am beyond livid here...despairing, really. How can this be happening?!?

[It is happening because like your fellow socialists, you are a naive IDIOT KOmmie SlackerInc. And now to the other disillusioned KOmmies...]

That ruling just plain sucks and the 'silver lining' ain't that silvery either.

[The ruling sucks? How about the ENTIRE ObamaCare law?]

My wife has not been too crazy about Obamacare and I have defended it to the death. I hope this thing is not going down the toilet like the Republicans predicted.

[It IS going down the toilet just like the Republicans predicted.]

The way its going it will end up as zero change other than mandating health insurance - not only did we not get Single/payer public option but those of us that don't want to hand over chunks of cash to the health insurance will be penalized. The sad thing is that this was all very predictable.

[The sad thing is that the DEMOCRATS passed ObamaCare without even reading it.]

But if you can't afford insurance you still end up paying the fine, subsidizing someone else's insurance while getting none of your own. How is that even remotely fair or right? It makes things actually WORSE for a lot of people.

[“But we have to pass the [health care] bill so that you can find out what’s in it....”]

Death panels!

[And a death panel has ruled that you are already brain dead.]

Where is the "Affordable" in the Affordable Care Act?

[Gone With the Wind.]

F*CK WHOEVER TOOK THIS DECISION AND I HOPE THEY GET SOME DAMN VIRUS UP THEIR ASS THAT MAKES THEM PUKE AND POOP NON STOP FOR A WEEK

[Oh, and you have to pay big bucks for mental health coverage under ObamaCare.]

When the whole thing collapses, the DUmmies may even wake up and join forces with us against the real enemy- the greedy global elite and the corrupt governments they own.

There is also a very short THREAD on this same topic over in DUmmieland. Here is one HILARIOUS observation:

With all of the people who voted for and passed this law, you'd think that one of them would have read the damn thing. This was a very big deal. wouldn't at least one of them want to make sure that for once they got something right?

Gee! And I thought all those complaints about the Democrats not reading their own bill before voting for it was nothing but a bunch of "rightwing" talking points. Now you are finding out what is wrong with voting for a bill "in order to find out what's in it."

This is just the beginning, small companies are just dropping insurance. When the Obamacare costs started to hit, his premiums went up and up and then dental dropped- not good for his family.

So when the working Left see their costs go up, coverage decrease all in the name of taking care of free loaders and illegals, the fur should really start to fly.

and the Care part of Obamacare hasn't even started

What happens if neither the states nor the federal government are able to set up state ObamaCare exchanges? I don’t see any states close to setting this up because of the complexity and the feds would have the same trouble too.

small companies are just dropping insurance.

That is going to be a huge problem for the money side of the ACA. ACA is based on the premise of helping a finite number of people. The problem is funding. Funding for ACA is based upon taxing the rich, taxing everybody, penalties to employers and employees for not providing insurance/not buying insurance.

When employers start shedding employees the only portions of the revenue side that go up are penalties on employers ($2500/yr) and the penalties on the employees that don't get insurance. The tax revenue on the "rich" and everybody else doesn't get any bigger and the program falls out of balance.

Based upon the numbers this dummy mentioned and the original projections for ACA subsidies, his family would be better off if the school district his wife works for dumped them and paid them the difference between their current costs to insure her and the penalty. Their subsidized insurance under Obamacare would then be pegged against their income and they would end up paying about $450 a month. I am guessing a majority of that would come from the pay increase the school district could give the wife with a zero net difference in outlay. Tax targets of ACA and deficit spending would pay the rest.

As funny as this is -- and it is going to get a lot funnier -- those FReepers who think the DUmmies will ever come around are living in a dream world.

What we are going to see are endless demands for fixes, new legislation, new loopholes, new opt-outs, new opt-ins, new rulings from the IRS and HHS.

It will not "collapse," as some here are speculating. It will simply become more and more hideous in an ever-spiraling mess; just like the tax code, but with your life and not just your money at stake.

Keep Your sense of humor, and by all means keep reading the DUmmie FUnnies, or you're going to go insane.

Not exactly correct. EMERGENCY care is available to anyone who needs it.

And contrary to common misconception it isn't free. You can't be denied the care but you are still responsible to pay for it if you don't have insurance. The care provider will help you get aid but it certainly isn't guaranteed. Depending on your state, gender, and finances you may or may not get help with the bill.

0bamacare is going to be the disaster of our age. They don't have a CLUE what's in the bill and are still issuing rulings on what it means (hence yesterday's news, upon which this DU FUnnies was based).

Governments both federal and state have a never ending procurement process that makes any project time line a LONG one. Any state that says it's going to set up an exchange is going to struggle with it for that reason and because of funding. There is a 95% probability that the exchanges will incur cost over runs. The big (and small) consulting firms are going to FEAST off of this debacle, with mediocre outcomes at best. And everyone, EVERYONE, including the liberals who most wanted this, are going to HATE it.

And then, using the Jedi mind tricks they always use on themselves, they'll figure out a way to blame the Republicans and that will be the MSM meme for the next 40 years. But you knew that last part already.

“It makes things actually WORSE for a lot of people.”

Top down centralized control always does! Dictators must force all individuals to bend their will to the wishes of the tyrant, that is the only way to “create” the utopia that they desire. Individuals cease to exist!

Therefore, things getting worse for everyone is always the result. History proves it, which is why it is so easy to predict!

Suck on it KOmmies! You wanted it, now you got it! Idiots.

I don’t think the federal guvmnt cares about the exchanges. All they care about is the IRS Enforcers collecting the TAX from those who cannot afford (or refuse to pay) insurance premiums.

I believe this was the intent all along.
