“Are there any numbers on how many of these abortions are performed yearly?”

I don’t know; people have posted totals, but I’d imagine it would be impossible to get a racial breakdown (can’t expose the genocide). In my town pregnant teenage white girls have to travel to neighboring welfare reservations to kill the babies; they house the abortion mills there. I believe the lib strategy has paid off; since the welfare reform of 1996 I can’t tell you how many unmarried young black females I work with who just have one child (simply to get on the dole/get the freebies). BJ Clinton ended the “bastard bonus” (by which more kids meant more money), and the black birthrate dropped IMMEDIATELY. Rather than being passed by Hispanics in numbers in 2010 as originally projected, they were passed in 2000 (and will continue to recede into obscurity, followed not far behind by whites).

Barack Obama was not elected by the power of black votes; he was elected by people pushing their own (non-racial) agendas, which he dutifully carries out regardless of his own preferences (see “gay marriage”, ongoing war in Afghanistan, extension of Bush tax cuts). He is the dupe of the Left, and “his people” (at least on daddy’s side) are paying a terrible price.

I was in Wal Mart yesterday.

First of month mad house.

Carts were overflowing, but not a single person around me was paying for any of the food themselves.

Had money for other thing they were buying, but not food.

When I paid with cash the checker looked at me like I was crazy.

With so many baby boomers leaving the workforce, there should be a shortage of LABOR, not jobs.

I’m no economist, but this seems basic to me. The retiring bbers should have been a boost to the economy I would think.

But Joe Biden just said this is the beginning of the new Gilded Age. How could this be?

This cannot be true. Jay Carney just told me the economy is headed in the right direction.

I don’t care what demographic one rises from, such an incredibly amoral perspective speaks volumes regarding the arrogant ignorance of a large percentage of Americans today.

This is why we have the problems we do, and it's also why none can be fixed. Every day brings a new outrage, another colossal FAIL, another capitulation to sin, another rationalization, another lie.

Nothing will change for the better without major pain and deprivation . No one changes unless they have to.

We all want to know whether the economy is improving and, if so, by how much. Employment is the key metric since it is fundamental for consumption, corporate profits, tax revenues, deficit reduction, and financial markets. Unfortunately the BLS numbers are manipulated to result in the most favorable outcome, to support the illusion that we are in a recovery.

Thanks. I’ve got five people in my little micro practice (solo legal practice) who make their living through me. After I pay them, there’s not much left for me, at least this past year. I’m basically working for nothing.

The BLS numbers are based on surveys and statistics. The BLS numbers are not a summary of census data where each member of the population is quoted. The author only cites BLS estimates of employment and labor force participation. You are likely also a person who wants to tie federal spending to some fraction of GDP; GDP is also an estimate borne of statistics. So you can save your statistics 101 lessons, which you seem to need a refresher in. The sad stories of this or that family having a hard time in a poorly performing economy is just that — sad. Individual experiences do not portend the disaster, gloom, and doom articles like the one above predict. The fact is: the country has not yet descended into anarchy and revolution in any region, which would be a natural reaction to the doom foretold by this article. In short, if the article and its analysis anywhere near accurate in describing America today, warnings would be unnecessary.

Maybe he meant "Gelded Age."

Thank you for your responses. It is quite obvious to me the food stamps program is out of control. I will start writing to as many elected critters as possible. Not that it will do much good, but it is better than keeping silent.

What I do not understand is how do people who can barely speak English get on such welfare programs. I am certain the welfare office does not check their legal status.

Now I have to sit down and prepare my tax return. I know now exactly where my tax money will go.

What exactly is your point? Are simply attempting to be argumentative? The author makes valid points regarding the decline in employment numbers. And don't jump to your arrogant conclusion about what type of person I “likely” am. You seem to be projecting. As to how the BLS arrives at its numbers he is a remedial summary for you:
To provide an estimate of monthly job changes the BLS has a complex methodology that includes the following steps:

1.An initial report of a survey of establishments. Even if the survey sample was perfect (and we all know that it is not) and the response rate was 100% (which it is not) the sampling error alone for a 90% confidence interval is +/- 100K jobs.
2.The report is revised to reflect additional responses over the next two months. This is especially important this month since the official survey response date has been moved forward by a week. This is a routine adjustment for the Thanksgiving holiday, but it increases the potential for error and later revision.
3.There is an adjustment to account for job creation. Everyone focuses on the birth/death adjustment. This actually accounts for less than 20% of the BLS attempt to estimate job creation.
4.The final data are bench marked against the state employment data every year. For the year ending in March, 2012, the BLS estimate was off by about 30K jobs per month overall, and 35k jobs per month on private employment. The January report will incorporate these benchmark revisions.

Now go find someone else to quibble with.

We got the last paperwork for our tax return today, so that will get started on Monday. Frickin moochers.

Dirty little secret is if you are the right "ethnicity" (aka various shades of chocolate) you are rubber stamped in. Auto approval. I know because I used to work for subsidized housing AND I have two children, now grown.

One is bi-racial (and in the Air Force reserves now as well as gainfully employed) and the other is white. There was a time when I qualified for reduced price school lunch for both of them (I was divorced and received no child support but worked two jobs). My bi-racial son NEVER EVER EVER got audited although the information on his application was identical to my daughter's. My daughter got audited EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. Most of these bureaucracies don't want any "trouble" from community organizers so they just look the other way and approve them for assistance. White people, on the other hand are put through several flaming hoops and the standard application grist mill.

“What I do not understand is how do people who can barely speak English get on such welfare programs. I am certain the welfare office does not check their legal status.”

There are government agencies HERE that steer them into those programs; there is a whole “poverty indiustry” that has been built to redistribute your wealth, and countless bureaucrats make nice livings doing it.
