Can anyone from LA tell me if the radio stations are getting requests to play "I'll be Watching You" by Sting? The lyrics seem eerily appropriate to the present situation.
I always thought that song was creepy.

I am half serious about calls requesting this song. It would not surprise me.

Of course not. Corporate makes all the calls. The DJs are reduced to saying silly things and making sure they commercials are sequenced properly. It bites.

* 'hot feet' refers to a Southern hoodoo foot track magic powder (in a can) used to send the unwanted person away. Sprinkled On footprints or socks or shoes. Some of the Scents are hot, sweet and/or spicy.
Don’t forget that Valentine’s Day is coming up, and for some reason I personally can’t fathom, a lot of folks think this is some kind of love ballad.
As I recall, even Sting (the songwriter) commented once that people thinking of “Every Breath You Take” as a love song was kind of creepy, as the song is (obviously) about obsession.
Still, a classic off one of my favorite Police albums.
For the record (so to speak), the song is actually entitled, “Every Breath You Take,” by the Police.

I don’t know about that, but most of the stations I listen to will take requests via email. And I only call a station if I’m trying to win concert tickets.

I miss those radio shows that took requests. Back before KUSC, at 91.5 megacycles, went all-classical, it featured a variety of programs including a Sunday-night "Oldies" show on which the DJ, Lane Quigley, invited listeners to phone in requests. So I requested Bazoom! by the Cheers, a forgotten hit unlikely to be requested by anyone else--and was astounded to hear it five minutes later. I was soon regularly making requests on that program.
And yet, Chief Beck looks like Tom Selleck.
Should do like the Lady DJ in the movie “The Warriors” and play “Nowhere to Run”.

The question is does the song mean that the citizens of LA will be watching Dorner or the LAPD ?
“I’ll be watching you”? LOL—they can’t even find him, much less watch him.
Too true. We have a more recent station in S. MS (BOB 104.9) that claims it will play anything. It does manage to hit a number of genres, but if you listen at the same time for 3 days running, you will hear about 10 repeat songs. Hard to believe they can't do better than that for variety.

Yea, they will play whatever you want, as long as it’s in their playlist (and reasonably far up on the rotation). Call them up and ask for something else, and they will politely tell you to get lost.
They do. But then Dorner calls in and requests “we are never ever getting back together.”
His face is flashed on every clear channel electronic billboard all over the city. No one hasn’t seen him. I don’t know how he could get around, unless he has disguised himself as a much smaller white guy.
