These folks really believe in your right to bear arms:
"A free people ought to be armed." George Washington
"The Constitution shall never be construed to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms." Samual Adams
If we desire to avoid insult, we must be able to repel it; if we desire to secure peace, one of the most powerful instruments of our rising prosperity, it must be known, that we are at all times ready for War. George Washington
"The people have a right to keep and bear arms." Patrick Henry "Americans have the right and advantage of being armed, unlike the people of other countries, whose rulers are afraid to trust them with arms." James Madison
"To preserve liberty it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them..." Richard Henry Lee
"The best we can help for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed" Alexander Hamilton
If the federal government should overpass the just bounds of its authority and make a tyrannical use of its powers, the people, whose creature it is, must appeal to the standard they have formed, and take such measures to redress the injury done to the Constitution as the exigency may suggest and prudence justify. Alexander Hamilton
The Constitution of most of our states (and of the United States) assert that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed and that they are entitled to freedom of person, freedom of religion, freedom of property, and freedom of press. Thomas Jefferson
Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the act depriving a whole nation of arms as the blackest. Mohandas Gandhi
Certainly one of the chief guarantees of freedom under any government, no matter how popular and respected, is t he rights of citizens to keep and bear arms. This is not to say that firearms should not be very carefully used, and that definite safety rules of precaution should not be taught and enforced. But the right of citizens to bear arms is just one more guarantee against arbitrary government, one more safeguard against a tyranny which now appears remote in America, but which historically has proved to be always possible. Hubert H. Humphrey.
These People DON'T think you should be able to defend yourself, which side do you want to be on?
A system of licensing and registration is the perfect device to deny gun ownership to the bourgeoisie. Vladimir Lenin
All political power comes from the barrel of a gun. The communist party must command all the guns, that way, no guns can ever be used to command the party. Mao Zedung
Ideas are more powerful than guns. We would not let our enemies have guns, why should we let them have ideas. Joseph Stalin
One man with a gun can control 100 without one. Vladimir Lenin
We want them registered Nancy Pelosi
We don't let them have ideas. Why would we let them have guns? Joseph Stalin
If the opposition disarms, well and good. If it refuses to disarm, we shall disarm it ourselves. Joseph Stalin
New York State passed legislation outlawing certain firearms in “Emergency Session”
Except ,... there was no Emergency !
.. assault weapons, which are banned under the new legislation if they have 1 military-type feature,
were responsible for 5 out of 769 homicides in New York last year or .007% hardly a public safety crisis for our state.
The Albany County District Attorneys Office prosecuted 4 cases involving assault weapons last year
none of which involved their use in the commission of a crime
and a recent FBI report showed that hammers and clubs were responsible for more deaths than rifles and shotguns ..
The SCDSPBA believes this is absurd, serves no public safety interest in the slightest,
and crosses the proverbial line from reasonable restrictions on gun ownership
to outright harassment of law-abiding gun owners. “
( Saratoga County Deputy Sheriff’s Police Benevolent Association )
So , New York State passed legislation for a .007 % problem statewide .
Except that there is no emergency
Just notariety for Andrew Cuomo for his Presidential ambitions for 2016 .
The average number of people shot in a mass shooting event when the shooter is stopped by law enforcement: 14.
The average number of people shot in a mass shooting event when the shooter is stopped by civilians: 2.5
The reason is simple. The armed civilians are there when it started. ~ :Larry Correia ( Firearms instructor/SWAT/ self defense instructor)
And just remember that LEO will tell you that for them, going into a mass shooting event alone is considered a suicide mission and the reason they will wait for backup. They dont know where the shooter is and it better for them to be covered on all sides.
Thus it would be much better for all if a shooting is stopped by a CCW on the scene immediately.
But the gun grabbers want to go the opposite dont they?
They are verging on insanity mental health checks?
Leftists should be first in line.
I dont know which is worse to look at former dictator Leftists or grinning Leftist psychopaths..
Gun control is about control, not safety.
Dutch Boy~:” Gun control is about control, not safety.”
Quite true !
It makes every gun owner a potential criminal if he choses not to particpate
Gun control is used by the media and libturds for their agenda :
disarm lawful citizens and create more victims
I refuse to be a victim. If by some chance the government gets my guns and I cannot “acquire” a replacement, I will use a hammer, a rock or even a pointed stick if I have to protect my family.
However, I know people that claim they would hide in the closet waiting for 911 to pickup before raising a hand against an intruder. Frankly, that bewilders me.
Dutch Boy~:” I refuse to be a victim. “
I refuse to be a victim ,either !
Even if it takes me using a crossbow
Just remember , two to the body ,
and one to the head ,
not necessarily in that order
Why do people insist on owning fire extinguishers when there are firemen? ...
My guess is that people that own fire extinguishers have a higher degree of self reliance. They can often prevent a small fire from becoming a disastrous fire.
They own them because when split-seconds count, firemen are only minutes away ...
I support the 2nd Amendment!
