I trust there are death certificates and grieving friends and family. Only a nut case would argue that none of these people existed or that they aren’t really dead.
If you want to take ABC's word for what happened, that's up to you. In doing so, you would appoint them the arbiter of evidence, judge, and jury.
Frankly, in my contact with the media, they seldom deserve a fraction of your trust.
That is why we have courts, and even they are not infallible.
