Hmmm
I might need a couple of new “used” guns.

But just like buying a used car, where I know enough to take it to my regular mechanic for an evaluation before I do so, I would like an expert to take a look at it first.

That said, what would be the problem with experienced gun experts setting up near buy-back locations, offering to evaluate and grade guns people want to get rid of?

Little old lady who doesn't know the scary looking gun she is afraid of keeping, is worth thousands of dollars ...
Somebody who needs to get the guns out of their house gets $75 instead of $50, if they sell it to me, after I am assured it doesn't have a bent barrel, and they are assured it is legal to sell it to an individual

That is an excellent idea!

Two or three individuals with the necessary, backed up by an FFL with a Class III trading facility, would be able to handle any gun your "little old lady" might care to sell, even the scary one that her uncle had from years before, that turns out to be a very nice M-14 in excellent condition that would otherwise fall to the Feds for nothing.
