President blamed conservative media preferred by Republican constituencies as part of gridlock in Washington.
Texas Insider Report: Washington, D.C. I think there are a lot of Republicans at this point, that feel that given how much energy has been devoted in some of the media thats preferred by Republican constituencies, to demonize me. It doesnt look real good socializing with me, Obama said in a press conference Monday. The preferred media was presumably talk radio and Fox News.
After the press conference, Rush Limbaugh said of Obama on his radio show,
What he does is position his political opponents as the enemy. Everything he did in the debt limit Q&A in his press conference, and even in the setup, was about the enemy. The Republicans are the enemy. Hes not proposing solutions to anything. Hes not interested in solutions.
In addition to Limbaugh, former Justice Department chief of staff and current nationally syndicated talk radio host Mark Levin called Obama an imperial president for seeking to bypass Congress.
This guy makes Richard Nixon look like a man who followed the law all the time, said Levin during an interview on Fox News. I think we have an imperial president, he sounds imperial, hes arrogant as hell and Im furious about this and Im going to tell you why.
What is going in is very understandable says Fred Lucas, White House correspondent and author of The Right Frequency: The Story of the Talk Radio Giants Who Shook Up the Political and Media Establishment, It is natural for the President to point his finger at talk radio, his political approach is obviously confrontational and the talkers and talk radio hosts and listeners are perfect opponents, they love confrontation too.
Lucas has the unique distinction of observing activities at the White House and understanding the undercurrents of talk radio.
His book The Right Frequency in book stores nationally, bears that out and offers an often overlooked insight into an understanding of the dynamics of Washington politics.
Couldn't have said it better myself...
There’s a conservative media?
The media may not understand this, but President Obama wasn’t elected by a huge majority of Americans. There are still millions upon millions of us who do not buy into big government solutions for every problem. The talk radio hosts are popular only because they’re about the only place left, other than the internet, to hear our side of the story. The leftists and their propaganists in the media have taken over just about everything else, and the media itself is a fully owned subsidiary of the Democrat Party.
Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck. Did I leave out anyone?
yeah, the 2-3% of the media that DOESN’T call Barry’s colon their home...
A true leader would still get things done, not blame others.
I think there are a lot of Republicans at this point, that feel that given how much energy has been devoted in some of the media thats preferred by Republican constituencies, to demonize me.”
Anyone want to try to parse this sentence?
Finger pointing and blame, this could go on forever. The leadership character of an empty head in an empty suit.
Mark levin, Laura Ingraham, Dennis Prager, Micheal Medved to name a few.
