The Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA), thinks Chicago's embattled police superintendent dug himself deeper into a pit of controversy today by claiming that lawful firearm owners are agents of political corruption. Appearing on a Chicago Sunday morning talk show, superintendent Garry McCarthy expressed his conviction that firearm owners who lobby their elected representatives or who donate money to political campaigns are engaged in corruption that endangers public safety. McCarthy went on to express his belief that judges and legislators should rely on public opinion polls when interpreting our Constitution.
After totally dismissing the citizen's right to redress grievances, McCarthy trained his constitutional wisdom on the 2nd Amendment. Despite recent court decisions to the contrary, McCarthy opined that the 2nd Amendment limits citizens to owning smooth-bore muskets. McCarthy went on to say that he believes that the 2nd Amendment supports mandatory liability insurance for firearm owners and the mandatory application of GPS tracking devices to civilian owned firearms.
"Garry McCarthy 's understanding of our Constitution barely qualifies him as a meter maid, never mind the chief of the nation's third largest police department," commented ISRA Executive Director Richard Pearson. "What on earth would possess McCarthy to assert that constitutional rights should be meted out based on public opinion polls? Let's not forget that public opinion polls once opposed a woman's right to vote while it would be a safe bet that, at one time, polls would have shown lynching as an acceptable form of justice. It has been said that our Constitution exists to protect the minority from the tyranny of the majority. McCarthy's view of our Constitution is dangerous and unbecoming of a civil servant."
"McCarthy needs to understand that the lawful firearm owners of this state will continue to lobby their representatives and continue to support candidates who represent their interests," continued Pearson. "If Garry McCarthy doesn't like that, well that's just too bad. If McCarthy is so interested in influence peddling, he should pop into some of the gin mills ringing the Illinois Capitol and count the ruddy red noses of taxpayer-funded lobbyists for the City of Chicago."

Just keep in mind that the vast majority of Police Chiefs are appointed to their job by the sitting mayor.
If you want to really know what is going on with your local PD, get to know some of the officers.
County Sheriffs on the other hand are elected to their office. More often than not, they understand the facts of life.
Ask Obama if you can round up the trouble makers and send them to Obama’s Fema camps.
What do you expect from an entrenched chicago political idiot, anything different would show that he is justnot an honest cop. these idiots from Illinois do not realize there is a thing called the rule of Law, the Us Constitution and the Illinois state Constitution. Now we get to see how entrenched the corruption of the chicago political machine is all the way down to the probability of the meter maid too.

Well, SOMEBODY in Chic-ago sure is corrupt.
And I don’t think it is the gun owners who legally purchased their sidearms. There are an awful lot of gun POSSESSORS who have no business in the same room with any kind of sidearm, but the deliberately blind city fathers take no notice of this small discrepancy between “probably legal” and “can’t possibly be legal”.
Contrary to popular belief, there ARE some people who have guns within the city limits of Chicago that are covered within the very strict limitations placed upon them by the local ordinances. But there are a awful lot more that pay no attention to these restrictions, and in fact, have been known to use these firearms for distinctly illegal purposes, like intimidation in an armed robbery or kidnapping, or wounding others and inflicting great harm and abuse, or even to take the life of another. These people have, in fact, never registered or made known they even possess guns, until the weapon comes out and is being aimed and fired.
Those who cannot make the distinction, and act upon the two really very different circumstances, have no business setting rules for anybody. Unfortunately there is no mechanism for removing the ignorant and merely naive from positions of legislative responsibility.
Political Correctness is the bane of our existence today.
Demonization begets criminalization which begets confiscation which begets extermination.
In that order.
Without exception.
As history teaches and proves.
History is repeating.
The city is in real trouble with this dummy running things.
