Let's set the parameters, before you read this article. First and foremost, I am a firm believer in gun control. A good site picture, a steady hand, timed breathing, and a smooth trigger squeeze all contribute to gun control and a tight grouping on your target. Being unfamiliar with your weapon or deficient on any of these components will mean poor gun control and imprecise shooting, which is a waste of ammunition.
We all have different views on gun control. Most of the readers believe in the ability of the individual to defend himself against home intruders, strong arm thugs, and tyranny: the Left has a contrarian view of all these potential altercations. During home invasions and assault by thugs, the Left has demonstrated compassionate feelings for the welfare of perpetrators. Police are trained in subduing the malcontent; therefore they should be allowed to arrest the criminal and the victim should accept the role of victim with dignity and poise. In the case of tyranny, the only ones threatening us with the loss of liberty and the imposition of tyranny is the Left, so it is understandable that they take a dim view of resistance to the idea of totalitarian control.
In an ironic twist of logic, the Left uses a strategy of showcasing victims to plead their case against the Second Amendment. Usually, the victims are unfamiliar with weapons, their usage, and the concept of self-defense; so they stand before the country and play the role of drama queen with crocodile tears showing in their eyes, while they plead the Left's case against the Second Amendment.
However, there is one victim who doesn't fit the template of a vacuous headed drama queen and he won't be programmed to tug at the heart strings of the overly emotional voter the Left is trying to sway with its media hype. Todd Evan is a survivor of Columbine who was wounded by one of the two homicidal maniacs back on April 20, 1999. He has written a poignant and open letter to our president in support of the Second Amendment and illustrating the fallacies of the Obama's views on gun control.

I’ve always had a problem with the statement, “if it saves one person...”
The only person it saves is the criminal- and that so they can strike again.
Hat’s off to Evan Todd for telling it like it is. A powerful testimony.
