Wise statesmen as they were, they knew the tendency of prosperity to breed tyrants, and so they established these great self-evident truths, that when in the distant future some man, some faction, some interest, should set up the doctrine that none but rich men, or none but white men, or none but Anglo-Saxon white men, were entitled to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, their posterity might look up again to the Declaration of Independence and take courage to renew the battle which their fathers began, so that truth and justice and mercy and all the humane and Christian virtues might not be extinguished from the land; so that no man would hereafter dare to limit and circumscribe the great principles on which the temple of liberty was being built.

No. I’m advocating that those who have taken the sacred oath to support and defend our Constitutions be required to do so.

It’s the required first step to getting our country back.

Technically, those who are acting contrary to the Constitution are overturning our form of government, ie enacting civil war or insurrection.

The Fourteenth Amendment

Section 3 - No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof...

There are lots of well-read people on FR who loathe abortion, yet reluctantly conclude that today, as it stands, the Constitution fails to explicitly prohibit it.

I'm one of them (at least I think I'm well read) and in who knows how many posts, you have completely failed to convince me of your position. Or convinced very many others, by the general appearance of these threads.

Good luck to you, and perhaps by 2032 or so you'll be able to get more votes than Jill Stein or Roseanne Barr.

Lotta babies gonna get cut up while we wait for the Hoefling administration to issue its first EO, though.

You and I both have the same convictions that abortion is wrong and should never be permitted.

But we have different convictions about whether it is currently Constitutional. I hold that it is, and can therefore be legally prohibited on a national scale only by amending the Constitution.

And I will not accept being called a pro-abort because I have a different view of the Constitution.

I can't help it if you, or anyone else, refuses to pay due regard to the purpose of our Constitution.

"We the People of the United States, in Order to...secure the Blessings of Liberty to...Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

All I can do is to keep telling the truth when given the opportunity to do so.
