NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — There is no doubt who is responsible for the Newtown school massacre. The shooter is dead and the prosecutor handling the case has said he does not expect any charges.
Yet authorities are continuing to keep search warrants and police records secret. Media outlets have pressed for the release of more records, which could shed light on a crime that has revived the national debate over gun control and could change the way guns are regulated.
The massacre has led to proposals for universal background checks on gun buyers and bans on assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines. It also prompted reviews of school security and mental health care and led to proposed legislation in Connecticut that would forbid arcades and other establishments from allowing children under 18 to play point-and-shoot video games.
The 20-year-old shooter, Adam Lanza, killed his mother at their home before killing 20 first-graders and six educators at Sandy Hook Elementary School on Dec. 14. He killed himself as police arrived.
Prosecutor Stephen Sedensky III successfully argued in December to keep search warrant affidavits and applications related to Lanza’s house and the car he drove to the school sealed for 90 days, saying disclosure would jeopardize an ongoing investigation. He said at the time no arrests were anticipated but had not been ruled out.

Nothing unusual about this until the initial investigation is closed. It is pretty much standard procedure. It keeps potential witnesses from being harassed or threatened.

Actually there is, Pat. There are more than a few with far more experience in firearms/law enforcement/mental illness than I who say otherwise.
Refusal to explain obvious omissions in the official story, and sealing records doesn't help to quell suspicion either.

Ongoing investigations are specifically stated as reasons records like this are sealed.
This one has another sealing caveat in that the victims were minors which is another cause listed to seal records.

I think this is probably standard procedure.
I know, it’s frustrating. It’s pretty clear that there are no other suspects, and no accomplices, and no one left alive to be prosecuted. But is it ABSOLUTELY clear? If they unseal the records and then discover that someone else knew about this, or contributed to it in some way, then it would be too late regretting having compromised the case.
It’s also frustrating because Obama & the media are USING this crime for their own dirty political purposes. But that’s not really the prosecutor’s fault. I think he’s just following the rules. Just in case. Because there’s always at least a minute chance, even in an apparently open and shut case like this, that some new evidence may turn up, or some reason to suspect some other person might have been involved.

If it never really happened, then there are no police records to release. My friend believes there was no Sandy Hook shooting incident — that it was a “wag the dog” story concocted by Hussein, et al., to get support for gun control / confiscation. He said one of the “dead” girls appeared in a photo with her parents and Hussein, after the incident. No ambulances on site, per people overhead in plane(s). Parents aren’t talking. I can’t recall the litany of reasons; there were many. Apparently, many people are starting to believe this.

Every single FReepathon has met its goals even in this crappy Obama economy. Not to many businesses can say they are still meeting revenue goals in this economy. As long as I can remember, the length of the freepathons usually have varied around 1.5 to 2 months. It has been at least 8 years since we’ve had one less. IE, not much has changed here while the rest of the world is going to crap so frankly, in comparison, this site is doing fine.

Maybe it’s just my eyes, but that little boy could be holding a bird in his hand. All that is distinct from his sweatshirt is the white of the front of the gun.
I wonder what the rules of engagement are. If they go by the rule that if somebody is armed they can be shot, then they better be ready for that same standard to be used on them. There’s a difference between a defensive use of a gun and an offensive use of one. If the cops or military are going to use their guns offensively against innocent civilians, then civilians’ defensive use of a gun is warranted. That’s exactly what the 2nd amendment is intended for.
Had that information not been released there would be no Trayvon for sainthood tour, no indictment of an innocent man, no circus clown by the name of Ben Crump clouding tv screens, and a media outlets stirring the pot.
Frankly I don't trust the media with information. I would rather trust the police and give them enough leeway to do their job well.

I note that every target in the entire "No More Hesitation" series are of the same ethnicity.
They are elderly men and women, children, young mother with children, a pregnant woman, and a schoolgirl.
Off hand it looks like the ROE, is shoot first, shoot first, shoot first, and if you can't actually see the target, blaze away at the back of the truck, and if it shoots back burn down the entire place, risk the whole National Forrest if need be...
I just had Rush on so I could hear what Rand Paul had to say. A Faruq (sp?) called in and talked about some NBC show where they were talking about who would be appropriate targets for drone strikes in the US: basically, Constitutionalists. He suggested basically what some of us here have been saying - that this whole issue is really about changing the definition of what constitutes a “combatant”. People who favor small government, have guns, and store up more than a week’s worth of food have already been mentioned by DHS as “potential terrorists”. It is a very small step for some unaccountable bureaucrat to just erase the word “potential”.
I hope Rand Paul refuses to back down until some definitions are given. What really bugs me is that the NDAA passed with a lot of “conservative” support, even though it left the word “belligerent” undefined. That is just plain crazy. Whoever gets to define that term will have license to detain indefinitely (and now Obama wants license to kill as well...). And Janet Napolitano has made it clear what SHE could use as a definition.
The people in these “No More Hesitation” targets are typical “bitter clingers”. The authorization to shoot these people would presumably be terror-related or crime-related. Either DHS is expecting little boys and girls, grandpas and grandmas, and pregnant women to take up terrorism, or else they intend to define “terrorism” so that it includes what these people already are.
IOW, they are either expecting these people to shoot first, or they’re going to define them as terrorists before any shots are fired, just by virtue of who they are and what they love (namely, the Constitution).

When it comes to people who believe that conspiracy theory, “it ain’t me, Babe”; I’m no truther. In the whole scheme of things, when bad things happen in areas that went predominantly for Hussein, I don’t care much one way or the other. For that reason, I can’t get my panties in a wad over Sandy Hook, Hurricane Sandy, the mulitple blizzards there, etc. When I see/hear the lib residents whining on TV about how they can’t catch a break, I turn to Investigation Discovery or HGTV.
