My husband is a soldier and we were stationed in Germany at the time of my son’s birth. I was told by the US Embassy when we received his “American Citizen Born Abroad” birth certificate that the ONLY thing he couldn’t do was become POTUS.
So yeah. Tough cookies. He’s not a natural born citizen.
That is not so. Once your son resides in US for more than 14 years, he will be eligible.
John McCain was born in Panama to 2 US citizen parents. McCain is a natural born citizen and, as we've seen, quite obviously eligible to be President. Why would your son not be eligible when McCain is? Sounds like the embassy gave you the wrong information.
I don't know what they teach now, but it's interesting how suddenly the only candidates are those who bend that standard.
When it comes to civics, "they" may not know how to add, but they sure know how to divide.
I recall when my sis was born in Ramstein in the early 60’s and we learned in school that she was eligible to be P. It was a very big deal back then.
“Hes not a natural born citizen.”
Wrong. If he was born to parents who were citizens and one was overseas on military orders that is still considered natural born.
McCain meets those criteria as he was born in Panama.
The US Embassy is NOT the final arbiter on your son’e eligibility. DO not lose faith!
