Wolf Blitzer: What do you say to the Venezuelans, not only in the opposition but those who have fled the country, who considered Hugo Chavez a vile dictator?
Jesse Jackson: Well, you know, democracies mature, Our first 15 presidents owned people. They owned slaves. Democracies mature.

How long must we suffer these fools?
hesse hackson is insane. No, those are NOT typos.
a long time. after he dies we’ll probably see a monument built to him in the Ditrict of Corruption.
So Jessie what about the 1$-$2 billion he stole from Venezuela?
Our founding fathers sacrificed their fortunes for the new country, Hugo stole a billion from his people
The Founding Fathers of the Soviet Union? Nazi Germany? Jacobin France?
I thought Jesse considered our Founding Fathers to racist, slave owning bastards that stole the land from the Indians. Now if he is saying that he thinks Hugo was thief who stole from the people of Venezuela and used them for his own personal gain, then for once I agree with Jesse.
The Founding Fathers gave Jackson money????
As long as minorities elect people like Jose Serrano and Maxine Waters as their leaders and get inspiration and moral instruction from the likes of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, they will remain miserable and poor.
Jessie is an Idiot!!!
No, I’m pretty sure he’s syphilitic, kinda like Al Capone.
Same delusional personality.
George Washington fought in the actual battles for the American Revolution. Afterwards they wanted to make him king but he refused being the humble man he was. Chavez was an arrogant, egoist, class warfare monger to feed into his so-called greatness among the sheeples while he stole from the nation. Don’t compare a great man to a leftist fool there Rev JJ.
I will say one thing about these communists: they all think alike. It’s a mental disease for sure.
I would like to see Jesse Jackson as a corpse like Chavez.
Gets worse by the day. Was by the week...now by the day.
Jesse is the prime example why the 13th Amendment should be abolished. Obviously some negroes haven't matured.
With any luck, he'll take a stroll through Weston, Fl or another Venezuelan refugee community and you won't have to suffer his idiocy for long.
Our Founding Fathers would have hung Jesse Jackson and Hugo Chavez on principle alone.
The “Founding Fathers” wouldn’t have let either of them in the front door! You’re a race pimp Jackson.
He is not a fool; he’s a damned socialist race baiter!
Those publicly financed grifters have to stick together.
Is this one of those, “dead European white guy” things the commie libs are always talking about?
Old race pimps never die; they just putrefy.
Who cares what Jesse Jackson has to say...when did the Black Community say to themselves, “we need one person to speak for all of us?” Yet another self-appointed ding-bat blowing off his mouth to make the news...if jumping off a bridge was the in things and the news was reported the hell out of it - he would be jumping off a bridge! (...now, how do we convince the media to cover such stories...)
Jackson is delusional ~ of the first 15 Presidents 5 didn’t ever own slaves. Guess that’s one of the problems o growing old and senile ~ you just plain old forget stuff.
Ummm he compared the FF’s to Chavez.
Naw, he is a race baiting fish eyed fool LOL
Definitely John Adams, John Quincy Adams, Millard Fillmore, Franklin Pierce, and James Buchanan were never slaveholders. Martin Van Buren's father was a slaveowner at one point but I don't know if Martin himself was ever the legal owner of another human being.
Likewise with William Henry Harrison--his father, Benjamin Harrison, was a Virginia plantation owner, but he joined the army at the age of 18 after his father's death and spent the rest of his life in the Northwest Territory, Indiana Territory or the State of Ohio, except for a year as US Minister to Colombia or living in Washington as a Congressman or Senator (and for one month as President). The Northwest Territory was closed to slavery before he went there. He may have been a legal heir to some of his father's slaves (he was the youngest of 7 children) but that may have depended on his father's will (if there was a will).
The records show 5 ~ but there are 2 others out of that first 15 who didn't own any slaves while they were in office.
George Washington got Virginia's statutes revised so an owner ~ himself for example ~ could free his slaves in his will, which he did.
How’s that love child doing, Jesse ?
A large proportion of the early settlers of Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois were from Southern states. Some of Virginia's Revolutionary War veterans got land in Ohio. So it would not be surprising if some of them brought their pro-slavery attitudes with them.
I read once that after Illinois became a state (and therefore was no longer bound by the Northwest Ordinance's prohibition of slavery) that there was a vote on whether to allow slavery and it lost by something like a 4-3 ratio. Surprisingly close since slavery had never existed there (except among Indians and perhaps French colonists). Of course Illinois people later hired slaves from Kentucky so some slaves worked in Illinois even if it was a free state.
I can compare Chavez to the Founding Fathers: He was like them to the extent that he peed standing up, well, at least until near the end. That’s about it.
defect to Venezuela, Jesse. The Communist Party needs you there.
When do you think any reporter or news host will challenge what these fools say. All of the first 15 presidents did not own slaves.
Of the first five presidents, four owned slaves. All four of these owned slaves while they were president.
Of the next five presidents (#6-10), four owned slaves. Only two of them owned slaves while they were president.
Of the next five presidents (#11-15), two owned slaves. Both of these two owned slaves while they were president.
It may be a small point but somewhere someone is repeating what Jackson said as the truth and people will believe it.
Lying is so common now that truth seems not to matter.
MARTIN VAN BUREN
WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON
U. S. GRANT had some control over and use of slaves his father-in-law gave his wife.
The only thing they have in common is they are all at room temp.
