Thanks for those links, the CA state song was interesting and awful. It’s no wonder no one knows it.

I like our state song, "I Love You, California." I have four recordings of it on 78 rpm discs, three of which are from 1914. The newest recording of the tune in my collection is the flip side of Harold Grayson & His Trojans' 1930 hit, "Fight On!"

However, there are those who want to replace our state song. If we have to do so, we could use "Golden Gate", although that has more of a Northern California feel. Incidentally, the version of "Golden Gate" that I linked to concludes with a couple bars of "I Love You, California."

You’d undoubtedly like “I Love You, California” if it were performed by some contemporary artist such as Justin Bieber or Snoop Doggie Dogg.
