Card is one of my faves. Like Alan Dean foster. Smart people.
My two favorite authors are WEB Griffin and the late Robert Jordan.
Card has written some excellent stuff, such as Ender and the Alvin Maker series.
But then he also wrote a multi-book retelling of the Book of Mormon as SF, which unless (possibly) you are Mormon is essentially unreadable. IMO, of course.
