This nation is closer to a Civil War than it has been since 1861.

Scary thought, isn’t it? Especially to those who have seen war and know from personal experience what it is like. If you are older than 35, would you ever have dreamed that one day, in our lifetimes, our country would be reduced to this? Sometimes it makes me want to cry for America. It makes me want to throw a fit and smash things, rage and scream like a wild man. I want to grab my weapons, march to Washington DC, stand up in front of Congress and the president and say, “Now Look, this is the way it is going to be or by God, I will start shooting!

Kind of childish, isn’t it? I didn’t ask for the crap that is going on today. I don’t want it. I am near 60 years old. All I wanted was to live out the rest of my days in peace. I wanted to live out those days in the America that I knew and loved, where one was safe and didn’t have to worry about what the government was planning to do to you.

So much for that. Life has changed, as it is supposed to. But it is not a good change. It remains to be seen what good can come from this state of affairs. The one thing I do know is that it is up to us . . . each one of us. . . yes, that means you . . . to bring forth whatever good can be found.

“Us against the drones. Could happen.”

in that case it might be easier to hack into the drones command systems thou a combination of patriot espionage and counter signal cryptography.

The military has great defenses but should the day ever come(god for bid) that we have no choice but to fight for our lives and rights.

If we are ready to defend ourselves our greatest assets will be the patriots still within the workings of the old regime. Assets which could make such hacking and commandeering of automated systems possible.

All of that of course depends upon when, where and how such a revolutionary war were to begin.

If the federal army & navy has not been effectively gutted we really don’t stand much of a chance.

Yea, everything is 180 degrees out of phase. What used to be wrong is right, what use to be right is now wrong. I tryto explain to the younger people, but they look at me like i am from mars. I just shake my head and walk on.

Buying ammo, can goods, silver, and other stuff. Getting out of debt. Getting ready for the bad to come.

Would Lee or Grant not have used nukes to bring a quicker end to the war?

Not sure about those two, but Sherman would have.

blackout

Civil War 2 ends 40 minutes after it starts when the Feds turn off the power. 99.9% of the population in the affected area heads to the refugee camp for the promise of a hot shower and WiFi access.

“The difficult part is deciding who the enemy is.”

That may prove to be extremely difficult in a future war. Although in the age of facebook and online logs a history both family and otherwise would be most uses full to both us and the regime to deduce loyoty. Indeed I suspect the NSA’s data center in Utah is no doubt already complying information on every american.

Some of this when commedeered may be used to the advantage of patriots, much will be used to the advantage of loyalist. Without battle lines any such war would be a very bloody and terrible thing defined much by terror.

Free speech, or what is left of it, would be very much the primary weapon.

"Where do we draw the line? "

The line should/a been drawn well short of the incandescent bulb ban.

I think more likely it will be a counter revolution. The revolution has already happened and we are living in the police state.

I think secession is exactly backwards. A better answer is to expel certain states from the union. Give them permission to return if they agree to live under the Constitution of the United States, and before they are permitted to rejoin, reset teh federal government back to its enumerated powers. That should buy us several generations of leeway before creeping liberalism edges back into our government.

There are FReepers who want a civil war. A couple of them have already posted to you. I don’t know if any of them have the courage of their convictions - that they would ever do anything more than sit on the sideline and say “Let’s you and him fight” crap.

If you are referring to me, I want out of the union. i.e. Secession. If "war comes" (the Goons own words) then so be it. Bring it.

I have a Civil War Almanac by day of every day of just before and after Civil War. The southern states were attacking Federal Installations long before Sumter. In think Sumter was the last straw. I found this shocking compared to what I was taught in School. Just amazing.

“Lost credibility with me when he used the term “libtard”. I’m no fan of liberals, but it’s tough to continue reading an article seriously that uses such words.”

Such words are commonplace among online true conservatives.

Non-partisans, independents and swing voters can see it, too.
