China has placed military forces on heightened alert in the northeastern part of the country as tensions mount on the Korean peninsula following recent threats by Pyongyang to attack, U.S. officials said.
Reports from the region reveal the Chinese Peoples Liberation Army (PLA) recently increased its military posture in response to the heightened tensions, specifically North Koreas declaration of a state of war and threats to conduct missile attacks against the United States and South Korea.
According to the officials, the PLA has stepped up military mobilization in the border region with North Korea since mid-March, including troop movements and warplane activity.
Chinas navy also conducted live-firing naval drills by warships in the Yellow Sea.
North Korea, meanwhile, is mobilizing missile forces, including road-mobile short- and medium-range missiles, according to officials familiar with satellite imagery of missile bases.
The missile activity is believed to be North Koreas response to the ongoing U.S.-South Korean military exercises.

Can’t wait for all the arm chair generals that make light of a conflict w nk to chime in on what many already remeber.
Amazing how this s*** didn’t happen under Dubya.
China joins the norks, assault the west coast of the USA, zero unable to stop them (military around the world in useless conflicts), martial law called, emperor for life, Americans revolt, Jesus returns, I see my my first wife again.
TRoops and jets against Chias and Pets.
Very astute comment.
Makes ya remember how Iran ignored jimmy carter with our embassy staff only to free them as Reagan was inaugurated.
This effin communist is going to allow our soil to be attacked.
This will not end well.
If I was the chubby ruler of North Korea I would attack—with Obama in charge the USA will do nothing but symbolical gestures before running to the UN. A quick war—take the South Korean Capital and some land then go to the peace table. Target some bases where US troops are located—maybe in Japan as well. Try to sink a few US ships and the war will be over. If he loses some people—well good—he can feed his masses as it is. With China at his back, he will not be invaded. This is the best time to move—the US is distracted with gay Marriage, Dancing with the Stars, and the Gun Grab. We are broke and over extended as it is. It would be good for Obama too—he can give a few tough sounding speeches—be photographed with the troops. and gain all the popularity of a “war time” president. IF war comes (and that is a really big if) it will be short—two to three weeks at most. Then a two years peace talk and we get screwed once again.
Yes. They seem to mistaking the father for the sun.
Perfect time for the chi-coms to move on Taiwan too.
Cause this Marxist punk ain’t gonna do squat.
Does nobody remember the Chosen Reservoir or the rout of the UN during one of the bitterest cold winters the Korean Peninsula had seen in decades?
The Battle of the Bulge was a cake walk in comparison, and we won that one. More like Napoleon’s retreat from Moscow.
At about the same time, General MacArthur proposed setting up an atomic perimeter at the Yalu River, which as it was crossed by the Chines troops, would inflict a fatal dose of radiation poisoning, causing them to falter and die as they reached the battlefields. This so enraged Harry Truman that he went on the national media and very publicly fired MacArthur on the spot.
Harry Truman had a history of a very troubled relationship with the US military, as he was gutting out the military capability of the US at the very time the Soviet threat was growing like an angry cancer. This confrontation with MacArthur just put it over the top, but Harry always claimed it was to preserve the civilian control of the military establishment.
We also had just lost China a couple of years earlier. It did not look good for the future of America.
America fell weeping into the arms of the gentle ministrations of Eisenhower.
It’s okay. Shortly he will be the same temp.
This should be good for 200+ on the DOW since we have a Democrat administration.
NK and China are joined at the hip. China will play this manufactured “crisis” like a banjo. And there will be an encore.
Who is to say China is not behind the whole thing.
I do not think that North Korea would have had the gall to threaten the United States if they had not known all along that China would back them up. Hasn’t China been building it’s Armed forces and harrassing Japan?
Our main fighting forces are in Afghanistan, Our military has shrunk, We have queers and women filling the ranks and we are still cutting our military while Obama plays Golf Prties, Vacations, and tried to disarm Americans. We are in no condition to go to war. Even if we had a real President instead of the POS we have.
IMO South Korea and Taiwan might as well bend over and kiss their butts goodbye, and Japan is too close for comfort.
Obama will do whatever China demands.
He’s a coward.
Unless, of course, he perceives war will further the destruction of America.
I have also read that the Russians are mobilizing troops and sending them to the Vladivostok region.
The world is on the edge of nuclear war as well as financial disaster, A pretty potent combination, not to worry, we have
all our resources concentrated on global warming, that’s the real threat. If stupid was gold, we’d all be billionaires.
Gonna be a long four years.
Whatever it is is supposed to kick off around the 19th of this month.
“Amazing how this s*** didnt happen under Dubya.”
But, but, but, I thought the “Won” was going to make the whole world love us and forgive us for all the wrongs done by the awful Republicans. We are supposed to have perfected diplomatic relations with all nations now. Isn’t everything really just peachy keen?
China is an ally of N. Korea. Always has been.
They didn’t tolerate UN forces near Yalu, and I doubt they would now.
This PONTUS seems intent on provoking, (stirring the pot). while our allies all squirm and need help and a show of support (like Israel). He chooses to confront The next largest economy/ military on earth (China).
No, it would not end/ start well.
Ask me again later - a unicorn just pooped Skittles all over my monitor.
Them dadgummed one horned bastards are famous for that.
Taiwan will fall into Red China’s Hands like a ripe plum. So to will the disputed islands—and the tool they will use is —North Korea. Obama is too beholden to the Chinese to do anything but bow. Soon we all will be bowing to our Chinese Masters.
