Inspired by this post at Newsbusters. The joke is not new by any means, but it's really remarkable that a major pop culture figure like Jay Leno was willing to use it.

TOPICS: Humor; Politics
KEYWORDS: aliens; criminals; democrat; illegalimmigration; invaders; jayleno; squatters; trespassers; undocumented

I agree...the Accuracy Problem should replace the term "illegal immigrants" with a more suitable term. I suggest calling them what they are..."illegal scumbag aliens".

“Illegal alien” as an expression is so overused as to need replacement. However, as far as conservatives are concerned, what would restore *perspective* to what illegal aliens are is a more accurate term: “Mexican citizens”.

Look at *any* article about illegal aliens, and mentally substitute Mexican citizens, and suddenly the situation becomes much clearer.

“State wants to extend health care, in-state tuition, and give drivers licenses to *Mexican citizens*.”

That would give the typical American citizen a slap across the face. “You mean I am paying taxes to support Mexicans?”

Here is a random story edited to put things in perspective:

“Oklahoma passed a law to discourage businesses in that state from hiring *Mexican citizens*, and property owners from renting to *Mexican citizens*, similar to laws passed in Hazleton, Penn., and Farmers Branch, Tex. But in Oklahoma, the federal judge considering whether the law was unconstitutional, let it stand, and *Mexican citizens* by the thousands are now fleeing Oklahoma.”

Therefore anytime we read in AP about an “immigrant” we will just have to assume that it is an “illegal immigrant”.

They are right, they shouldn’t be called “illegal immigrants” any longer.

I vote we call them what they really are. Criminal Invaders.
