The next 10 weeks are a make-or-break period for President Obamas second-term agenda. (emphasis mine)
He needs quick victories in the Senate on gun control and immigration if he is to build momentum for a fight in the Republican-controlled House the chief obstacle to his agenda.
Obama and his allies are counting on the Senate to deliver strong bipartisan votes for gun violence and immigration bills to build pressure on Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) to bring the legislation to the House floor for votes. The House is waiting for the Senate to act first before deciding its course of action.
The stakes are high for Obama; David Axelrod, his former chief political adviser, last week called immigration reform a legacy item for the president.
As the gun control fight has gone on and Obamas initial talk of wide-ranging reform has been trimmed and trimmed again, the president has faced renewed criticism over his ability or inability to shepherd meaningful legislation through Congress.
On immigration, there are doubts as to whether he seriously wants a deal; many Republicans fear he would prefer to point a finger of blame at GOP lawmakers during the 2014 elections and thus perhaps win the House back for Democrats than actually achieve real progress with their help. They note that Obama last week was fundraising on the West Coast, speaking of the importance of returning California Democrat Nancy Pelosi to the Speakership....

Severely crippled the US, now he's determined to destroy it.
Do you mean turd polishing?
There’s only so much polish you can put on a turd.
His legacy is that he is the most self centered greedy president ever who is only concerned with himself and his golf games.
I don't seriously believe even he thinks that this will happen, if the democrats couldn't win back the house with him on ballot in 2012. There is no way they will INCREASE their turnout in 2014. (Not to mention that the Republican were wise enough to gerrymander enough safe districts to hold the House against anything but a landslide of epic proportions.
Nancy Pelosi recently told Chris Wallace on Fox News, "It is almost a false argument (made by Repubs) to say that we have a spending problem (WRT sequestration)." (TRANSLATION "And besides, we need trillions to subsidize all our "new citizens" who will vote---and make me Majority Leader, again---not to mention the billions in foreign aid we plan to give to all the countries on the other side of the border.")

Do you mean turd polishing?”
D*mn, beat me to it...with the exact words needed.
However, it does bring up the conundrum of can a t*rd polish itself?
Second!? It’s his third term I’m worried about...
“I don’t seriously believe even he thinks that this will happen, if the democrats couldn’t win back the house with him on ballot in 2012.”
It could happen if the Republicans cave enough, as the leadership show signs of wanting to do.
They could discourage the base, or even split it.
He better get started, its real hard to burnish a good shine on a turd.
the votes have it, the first thing that comes to mind with the statement Obama Legacy is:
