Correct. The only problem is that people can no longer agree on a definition of marriage.
The commonsense definition, the definition that is distinct from "friend" or "sex partner," is:
The lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, for their mutual good, and the begetting and raising of children.
This definition of marriage applies to Christians and non-Christians alike. Christian marriage is different, however, in that a marriage between baptized Christians imparts grace.
This is why the Catholic Church presumes the validity of non-Christian marriages.
But marriages can be null, if one does not intend a lifetime commitment, one rejects children, one was not free to marry, one was coerced, one was incapable of the marital act, etc.
If a marriage is actually null, then divorce is permissible, since an actual marriage did not take place.
But no-fault divorce has damaged our society tremendously.
I think we agree. No fault divorce is the same as homosexual unions.
The politicians can vote in whatever laws they wish to allow the life style of the majority of people. In the end, you pay the consequences for the lifestyle.
