So were the Minutemen.

They also had much bigger balls. I personally don't think there is any comparison between modern day gun owners and the minutemen of 200-odd years ago, other than they owned guns and we own guns. Unlike them, however, we tend to hand ours over to the cops when they come knocking.

Maybe the State Police?

Huh, probably. I live in Washington State which has the Sheriffs. What do I know about Texas?

Rabbit season is open all year in Texas. In addition, only an idiot would go out in the country in Texas unarmed these days. Coming up on a bunch of wild hogs can ruin your whole day if not your life.

Check your hearing aids bud, I am not a lefty. It was the headline that said he was hunting. I said he was carrying the guns for protect which is not illegal.

We have our pockets of Lefties, but by and large TX is free of the disease. as do we in commierado. unfortunately they have the major population centers of denver, boulder, ft collins, and pueblo and get most of the votes. this place has turned into a western maryland,

Utterly outraged at the ignorance in this video. My heart aches for my country. We are no longer a free America.

We have the most pro-Second Amendment Governor and Attorney General in the country. I predict that these thugcops will soon get a visit from the Texas Rangers and end up in jail themselves. It has happened before.

Yes, even in Texas.

A few years ago this happened in Philadelphia. A man was legally open carrying (Directive 137) and this cop used his Gestapo tactics on him and threatened to murder him ("I will F_cking shoot you!")

SHOCKING AUDIO: Philadelphia Police violate rights of open carrier at gunpoint

In NY State, the police are coming to your house because doctors are informing on patients who were prescribed sleep medication during the past 10 years.

This is absolutely insane. When will our law enforcement and legal system be reprimanded and called into account for these horrific abuses?

In Texas, the Rangers have arrested basically entire small town police departments, judges, and prosecutors for this kind of thing. This will not end well for the thugcops or the prosecutor. Fools.

The officers were from Temple, TX. My old PD back in the day.

Today, TPD is politically correct. Led by a chief that started with the department over 30-yrs ago as a cadet and never left the city. Nice guy, but totally in-bred, political and lefty/democrat. . .like most of the city council.

Something is odd, here.

The article mentions “Bell County prosecutor Ken Kalafut.”

However, according to the Bell County District Attorney’s office, he doesn’t appear on their staff list.

The county DA is Henry Garza, elected 2001. The rest of the staff:

http://www.bellcountytx.com/county_government/district_attorney/staff_profiles.php

The state bar association does list him as being a prosecutor for Bell County.

Won’t help.

Rangers are political animals and totally inept.

They are like the FBI. . .great reputation but that is all they have to offer. The locals do the work and the Rangers step in for the media conferences and such —grabbing the headlines.

Most all are former Tx Highway Patrol types and are old and lazy and have it made. . .and have a large expense account to pick and choose where and when they will offer to help.

To be clear. . .

They are not deputies of Bell County.

They are police officers for the City of Temple.

Thanks for the correction. Was this within the city limits? It does thicken the plot as apparently Grisham has been a bit of a thorn in the side of city officials. I’m sure that the police would never exceed their authority, that would never happen, would it.

Not saying you’re wrong, but our experiences with Texas Rangers are vastly different. I’ve known a few. Some very tough and serious cops. And they uniformly despised corrupt small town police.

We’ve got “laws” that says you can’t “rudely display” a hunting rifle? I hadn’t heard about that one yet. Yikes!

I was talking to a friend yesterday. An aunt from Texas, who considered herself a liberal, moved to bright Blue Oregon. Now that she knows what real leftists look like, she doesn’t put herself in that category anymore.
