Saudi held in Boston terror bombing "smelled of gunpowder": “I thought there would be a second bomb”

The Saudi being grilled by the FBI said, “I thought there would be a second bomb" and two bombs did go off. We now know that there were no unexploded bombs at Boston Marathon. Only two bombs ---

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick says no unexploded bombs were found at the Boston Marathon. He says the only explosives were the ones that went off Monday.

“I thought there would be a second bomb."

He is being grilled by the FBI, and police were seen carrying 20 large bags from his apartment in Revere, Massachusetts. If the police charge him or even call him a suspect, he gets all lawyered up (the feds made that mistake with the Christmas underwear bomber.)

Catherine Herridge reported earlier that the Saudi man is connected to a very powerful Saudi family.

John Kerry meeting with Saudi Foreign Minister abruptly closed to press coverage

"FBI grills Saudi man in Boston bombings," by Larry Celona in the New York Post, April 16 (thanks to Andrew Bostom):

Police took a 20-year-old Saudi national into custody near the scene of yesterday’s horrific Boston Marathon bomb attack, law-enforcement sources told The Post.

The potential suspect was questioned by the FBI and local police yesterday at Boston’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he was under heavy guard while being treated for shrapnel injuries to his leg sustained in the blast.

In late afternoon, a large group of federal and state law enforcement agents raided an apartment in a building in the Saudi man’s hometown of Revere, Mass.

FBI agents could be seen through one window. It was not clear what, if anything, they found. But Revere fire officials said they were called out to support bomb-squad officers as part of an investigation of a “person of interest”

“Earlier a link to a FB page was posted that was said to be the witness/suspect. I followed the link & he had worked for the ambassador, IIRC...”

Did it say he worked for Adel al-Jubeir?, If so oh SH-t,this is going to get very interesting.

I don't know if he was involved in the attack as anything more than a victim, but I do know if I were a Saudi and I were anywhere near a blast, I'd run like a vengeful djinn was after me to get away from the scene!

Worrisome. Perhaps it’s just a damaged phone?

they better not cover this up.....they better not “clean” this case..

They can't help it. It's SOP now. Their standard response and protocol is to "clean" these situations before we....the great unwashed class of serfs...get even a hint of what the truth is.

I am going to have to do some digging on some of his friends, I do not see any names that jump off, I am sure they could have been scrubed since you looked at it. If Adel al-Juberi was one of them that would be huge news.

I have no idea whether this fellow is the bomber, but he had been injured by the first bomb and was running away when he was caught. Given that he is from the Middle East, his statement that he thought the would be another bomb makes sense. That is the standard M.O. -—one bomb and then, after people rush in to help, another one. It doesn’t really suggest guilt.

Thirdly - was gunpowder used - or was it another explosive?

Gunpowder (smokeless powder which is used in modern reloading)does not make a good bomb. It is not classified by the BATFE as an explosive. Black powder (think muzzleloaders or cannons) however is an explosive, and will explode with a fireball like was seen in yesterday's video coverage.

LEO on the left (rear) is pulling a rolling storage/shipping trunk.

LEO in the center is carrying a spool of wire and a backpack/duffel bag of sorts.

LEO on the right (front) is carrying a "tool" bag, with a large "bug-out" backpack by the neck and possibly something else in their left hand which is obscured by their body.

Well, of course I can’t read all of it but it does not seem like a terrorists page to me. Didn’t see what appeared to be rantingd. Some of the postings were about Mohammed (Bing translation). But then I wouldn’t really know.........

At this point in time, I don’t think this guy seems too suspicious.......

Heard from my friends in Boston.

Their son finished about 30 minutes prior to the bombing but was actually staying at the hotel that blew up.

So he was not allowed back in and had no clothes but jogging clothes and they had to walk 5 miles to the parents hotel and all 6 people including grand kids. Bought clothes on the way. Scared the hell out of them.
