Saudi held in Boston terror bombing "smelled of gunpowder": “I thought there would be a second bomb”

The Saudi being grilled by the FBI said, “I thought there would be a second bomb" and two bombs did go off. We now know that there were no unexploded bombs at Boston Marathon. Only two bombs ---

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick says no unexploded bombs were found at the Boston Marathon. He says the only explosives were the ones that went off Monday.

“I thought there would be a second bomb."

He is being grilled by the FBI, and police were seen carrying 20 large bags from his apartment in Revere, Massachusetts. If the police charge him or even call him a suspect, he gets all lawyered up (the feds made that mistake with the Christmas underwear bomber.)

Catherine Herridge reported earlier that the Saudi man is connected to a very powerful Saudi family.

John Kerry meeting with Saudi Foreign Minister abruptly closed to press coverage

"FBI grills Saudi man in Boston bombings," by Larry Celona in the New York Post, April 16 (thanks to Andrew Bostom):

Police took a 20-year-old Saudi national into custody near the scene of yesterday’s horrific Boston Marathon bomb attack, law-enforcement sources told The Post.

The potential suspect was questioned by the FBI and local police yesterday at Boston’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he was under heavy guard while being treated for shrapnel injuries to his leg sustained in the blast.

In late afternoon, a large group of federal and state law enforcement agents raided an apartment in a building in the Saudi man’s hometown of Revere, Mass.

FBI agents could be seen through one window. It was not clear what, if anything, they found. But Revere fire officials said they were called out to support bomb-squad officers as part of an investigation of a “person of interest”

Gunpowder (smokeless powder which is used in modern reloading)does not make a good bomb. It is not classified by the BATFE as an explosive.

I'll tell you as both a reloader who deals with smokeless powder, and a civil war re-enactor who deals with black powder, "gunpowder" can be either black powder or smokeless powder.

Smokeless powder is more powerful by weight, but burns slower. That would be the point of putting it in the pressure cooker, the powder would have time to burn before the force was released.

The same thing happens if you shoot a shotgun with an obstruction in the barrel - if the force builds and the outlet is impared, you'll blow out your barrel. Go visit your local gunsmith, he may have a few blown barrels on hand, and stories to go with them.

Burned hands? That doesn’t make sense. If he was holding the bomb, his arms would have been blown off. Secondly, the bombs were probably on a timers. Describe the scenaio where the bomer ends up with “burned hands”.

Explosives which get ignited rather than properly detonated, burn with an intense heat.

It looks like a 1000ft spool of ethernet cable.

Wire could be network cable, but usually when you buy network cable it already has the ends on it...

It’s too thin for Cat5 ethernet. It looks more like SM fiber. No idea why they’d need that for an apt. network.

What was this person of interest doing that caused him to be tackled by citizens? Any interview of the tacklers?
