So we have a person who should have been deported who was at the scene of the crime. At the very least, he should be suspect and fully investigated.

He was never a suspect according to the government. And I think they need more then a couple of days to fully investigate someone.
The Super bowl, NASCAR, all the big venues check bags, screen people. A marathon is a soft target. Its 26 miles long and tough to secure.
Tell that to the people in Iraq who are still experiencing weekly terrorist bombings in their city. If enough attacks occur in a short period of time, it will paralyze America. America has not yet experienced a sustained series of attacks by terrorists and I hope it won’t, but the Boston attack shows that it could happen.
Yeah, I hadn’t thought about that angle.
