I liked the information in the book but he is way too wordy.
I tired of what seemed to me self-aggrandizement. Then there is the disconnect of him being “conservative” and Democrat. A true fighting Scots-Irish has to see the truth and not blindly fight. Gave the book to a Democrat brother who also is contradictory as a new small business owner. I think he may be seeing the light but too bad his kids were raised to be liberal.

“Virginia has been invaded by progressives from other states, especially Senator Warner and Representative Moran.”

Amen brother, Amen. I am native born Virginian, now living in a small town of about three thousand. We are in spitting distance of Harper’s Ferry, Manassas, Gettysburg, history as far as the eye can see. Unfortunately, we are also a long but doable commute to the cesspool on the Potomac. So over the years the migration of leftists and Progressives has been polluting the landscape. Recently, the RINO mayor of this town signed on with Bloomburg and his anti-gun mayors. As soon as (if) the real estate market comes back enough, my farm is on the block. Adios M(y)F(riends)

No. You’re thinking of Chuck Robb.

That’s Chuck Robb, LBJ’s former s-i-l. Webb campaigned for Robb against Oliver North, calling him a congenital liar in the process. By then, Robb’s name had pretty much been destroyed by stories of drug-fueled escapades with minor females, but he still won.

*"Why doesn't the Confederacy just fade away? Is it because we are irresistibly fascinated by catastrophic loss? Or is it something else? Is it because the Confederacy is to this day the greatest conservative resistance to federal authority in American history?" ~ Professor David Blight

Conservative my behind. The Confederacy was a big, intrusive centralized government monster with socialist tendencies. The Southern conservative of today owes nothing to the Confederate government.
