GREAT MOMENTS IN AMERICAN HISTORY!
Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead! - Admiral David Farragut
Dont fire until you see the whites of their eyes! - Attributed to Colonel William Prescott
I have not yet begun to fight! - Captain John Paul Jones
What difference does it make? - Secretary of State Hillary Clinton
I used to think that Hillary Clinton was a pretty smart politician, as far as Washington bureaucrats go, but following the Benghazi fiasco and her defense of that terrible sequence of events, I think Hillary displayed such an unknowledgeable level of unpreparedness that one can only question her qualifications to perform any function in any capacity. Allow me to replay Hillarys less-than-shining moment in January, during a Senate committee hearing. While being questioned by Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, Clinton became slightly unglued and fired back,
"With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night who decided that theyd they go kill some Americans? What difference at this point does it make?Thats not the sort of astute response one ought to expect from a United States Secretary of State. But rather than wait for history to pass final judgment, lets invoke some history now with some creative speculation on how Hillary Clinton might have applied her skills in other critical situations.
The Battle of Lexington and Concord, April 19, 1775
"With all due respect, the fact is we had 49 dead colonists. Was the British Army under secret orders to capture our military supplies, or did the Massachusetts militia provoke the attack? What difference at this point does it make? The Siege at Fort Sumter, April 12-14, 1861
"With all due respect, the fact is Fort Sumter is no longer under Federal control. Was the fort captured by a group of armed Virginia rebels or was this an organized attack by Confederate troops? What difference at this point does it make?Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941
"With all due respect, the fact is we lost over 2,000 Americans. Was this a preemptive attack planned by Japanese industrialists to protect their interests in Southeast Asia, or was it a de facto declaration of war by Imperial Japan? What difference at this point does it make?Im hoping that this little alternative history lesson shows what a big-time hell of a difference it does make. Thats not to imply that we should put the entire Benghazi scandal on Clinton. This was a failure of the Obama administration up and down the entire chain of command. But Clintons part in this is clear, and there are only two possibilities. If Clinton truly believed that the Benghazi attacks were caused by an obscure YouTube video, then she was clueless and naïve. If she believed otherwise, than she was lying, covering up, or both. Either way, Clinton doesnt possess the kind of judgment Americans need from their government officials, especially where the safety of Americans is concerned. Its an egregious gaffe that shouldnt be forgotten, especially if Hillary decides to make a run for president in 2016.
Next time there is a hearing about the IRS targeting conservative organizations (who were opposed to Obama), I wish someone would play a video of Hillary shouting that “dissent was patriotic.”
I correct that typo on myself all the time.
The Democratic Party is a cult of personalities. Worthiness and competence, not to mention qualifications, have nothing to do with which personalities rise to cult leadership. Who has pop star appeal and name recognition that excites across the lines of minority self-interests? That’s the ticket. Hillary shared Bill’s stardom, if little else, and the cult zombies that make up most of the Democratic base where it counts, the masses of needy humanity in the cities, know the name Hillary. ...Ability to govern or competence to run an agency are irrelevant at best, and a hindrance at worst. In a cult of personalities paranoia rages, and nothing sends ripples of panic across the status quo faster than someone who might question the skills and intelligence of other personalities. Hillary, like Bill, and like her boss, was there for the power and fame, not because she knew how to do her job. Damn the job, and those who would hold her to it.
Don’t forget the man (hero) who elicited that appalling response from Hils — Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin.
Loved the examples, otherwise.
Hillary wasn’t under oath.
IIRC, anyone talking to Congress commits perjury if they lie = oath or not.
