Nowadays, about 70% of black babies are born out of wedlock. These kids don’t have a father, instead, their mom has a “baby daddy”, who for all she knows, is the “baby daddy” for some other girls’ kids too.
Also worth noting, that liberals sometimes blame the legacy of slavery and Jim Crow for the breakdown of the black family. Yet, black families were stronger during the days of segregation in some respects. Out of wedlock births only exploded in the black community, and throughout our society, since the ‘60s.
I look at a couple of standout baseball players as good examples of what a real family can do for black kids.
Torii Hunter and Curtis Granderson grew up in actual families and both conduct themselves as role models.
Ain’t liberalism grand!
Well, the libs managed to abort a lot of them, guess a few got through.
When I was growing up, I lived in a part of town where sick people lived. If you had a family member with asthma, or arthritis, or lung problems you lived there because it was up above the dust in the air and there was no irrigation. Black, Hispanic, white, indian all lived side by side and there was no difference in family structure or love or respect.
that should have been if the husband did NOT live in the house.
And whites are where blacks were 1 generation ago.
Guess where the majority is headed?
I shudder to think about this. Yes, many white girls are having the babies and going on public assistance as a lifestyle choice. I shudder to think that the whole society is going ghetto. I hope that’s not in our future.
I’m black. My grandparents (on both sides) were married at a young age, and were together for over half a century. Only death could make them part.
Marriages in my parents’ generation didn’t fare as well, but in my generation, we’re all married and stable.
I can attest to that. All four of my grandparents were Republicans, too.
The period when you grew up was before the war on religion.
Most of the poor Black families were firmly rooted in the church. The church taught them to be satisfied with less, that their reward would be in heaven. The left hated that, they thought that religion was contributing to the cycle of poverty among the Black population, who tended to have larger families than the White families and if something wasn’t done about it, the Blacks would one day take over the cities. Thus, Margaret Sanger and Planned Parenthood set out to do something about it.
What we are seeing now is a war against Christianity and the inherent moral code of Christianity. Judeo Christian religions teach, not only a strict moral code, but self responsibility, as well.
God helps those, who help themselves, the parable of the three talents, and many other such teachings conflict with the leftist theme of government dependence.
Bad things happen when it is The Fatherland instead of the Father.
You are right Eva, and that is what worries me. All families seem to be suffering from the same thing.
