Paula Dean is being fired, this isn’t a case of her conditions not being met and a contract not being reached, she is being kicked out, fired, terminated, she isn’t turning down a gig voluntarily, she would do anything to not be fired.
She tweeted, put a major Facebook post up about amnesty, then wrote an editorial for Breitbart. I don't think that shows any kind of control by Fox, nor does it look like she isn't attacking this frontally. It's clear she is hitting this topic in every way she can.
It remains to be seen how Fox will use her reporting and editorializing. One thing for sure, meta f has been wrong..........a lot.............. with his take on Palin from the moment he came on to this thread.
Food Network’s official stance on Paula Deen is that her contract is not being renewed at the end of the month. And since I understand they are also pulling all her shows off the air, that’s a pretty strong statement.
That said, I’ve got thirty years in media, with a good portion of it covered under contract. Not having a contract renewed, while not being fired in the strictest sense of the word, is essentially the same thing. You’re still being told by your employer that you’re not welcome at work on Monday.
We don’t know the exact details of, and reasons for, Palin’s departure from FNC the first time. And unless either side cares to reveal them, that’s for the best.
I have always recognized GW as his father's son and committed to the NWO that GHWB was committed too.
I believe that we have no reason to think that Palin was fired, zero reason, and that we all know that Paula Dean WAS fired.
You could be right. However, the net result in both cases was the same, through non-renewal of contract.
I’ve both gained and lost jobs in the industry through contracts and when mine ran out, it was the same thing.
I guess you don’t sign petitions either or participate in any other form of activism or participation for your causes to your representatives. If you have any that is.
Results the same? Being fired or pursuing and failing to meet the talent’s requirements? I don’t think so.
A few months after what we assume were contract negotiations, Palin is back at Fox. On the other hand Paula Dean was fired, and that I’m betting is a whole different ball of wax in regards to her future.
I bet Paula Dean would not agree with you that she is in the same position with her network future, that Sarah Palin was 5 months ago with Fox.
Do you have a job there the next morning? No. Results, while worded differently, are essentially the same.
Of course, as you put it, 'pursuing and failing to meet the talent's requirements' will often result in non-renewal of a contract. That's often expressed in ratings (in my own case it came when a show I was doing was switched to another provider by a rights grantor, and they preferred their own talent).
You're right to note that they aren't worded the same. And yes, Palin is back at Fox. It's not unheard of in the broadcast industry for seemingly insurmountable obstacles to be overcome with some ease. But if you've been in the industry, you know that the terms mean the same thing. How you rebound determines the type of media personality you are.
You're also right to say that Paula Deen's broadcast future isn't as rosy as Sarah Palin's.
That’s right, Palin wasn’t fired, and Paula Dean was.
There is a world of difference.
Good for Sarah. With his position regarding this issue, Rubio has proven that he is no friend to conservatives.
Welcome to Free Republic.
Thank goodness that you're finally here to educate us.
He did it to his opponent in the Senate primary, then to his opponent in the general election that year.
She's a friend of Sean's. He should invite her on. What, is Ailes going to tell him he can't?
They put Michelle Malkin in prime time, and she has been extremely tough on amnesty too.
My parents used to poll watch in New York, and my mother told me every machine in a gubernatorial year would come in with 3-5 votes for Rocky already on it.
There is a difference between not even having the chance to renew your contract, a la Paula Deen, and being unable to come to an agreement in a negotiation, a la Sarah Palin.
This needs to be repeated. Mr. "Conservative," Mr. Independent" Hannity has a school-girl crush on the traitor Rubio. His pal Levin needs to straighten him out.
And a more recent thread:
- Dozens of voters in Pueblo County, Colorado have claimed electronic voting machines have changed their votes for Mitt Romney to votes for President Barack Obama. The Pueblo County Republican Party has asked the Colorado Secretary of State's office to investigate the matter. A voter told KRDO Newschannel 13 that a checkmark appeared next to Obama's name after she cast her vote for Romney. "I wonder where my vote really counted," she stated. Pueblo County Clerk and Recorder Gilbert Ortiz admitted he was aware of "fewer than ten instances" of votes being switched and conceded such errors have occurred since the...
In a presidential election, Conservatives need an extra 10 million votes to counter the fraud, including millions of non citizens' votes.
- The foreign-headquartered company that recently purchased the leading U.S. electronic voting firm is boasting that it was highlighted in a report on how technology is making the election process more efficient, secure, transparent, accessible and reliable. The report, WND has learned, was authored by a firm with links to billionaire activist George Soros. The information comes after WND reported two weeks ago that SCYTL recently acquired the software division of a non-profit election organization tied to Soros Open Society Institute. Yesterday, WND reported SCYTL announced its technology will be deployed at more U.S. jurisdictions ahead of the 2014 midterm elections....
Ah. Yes i did. Sorry about that!
