Posted on 06/23/2013 3:00:40 PM PDT by montag813
Bill O'Reilly shocked the conservative blogosphere when he came right out and endorsed the 'Gang of 8' immigration bill - even though there was no actual bill text available when he endorsed it.
O'Reilly's surprise backing came on the very day that the so-called "Border Surge" amendment, sponsored by Sens. Corker (R-TN) and Hoeven (R-ND) was announced by the desperate amnesty-pushers to try and save the bill, but before some of the nasty details of it had been introduced to the Senate.
Bill'O's total betrayal of "the folks" also came after The New Yorker reported that he and FoxNews anchors Sean Hannity and Neil Cavuto held a secret meeting with 'Gang' members McCain, Rubio and Graham, and promised to support it.
O'Reilly denied this report in his endorsement of the bill...
An incredulous Laura Ingraham came on right afterwards, and proceeded to rip O'Reilly to shreds.
Check out the part when he pathetically hangs his entire defense of the bill on the fact that John McCain TOLD him he would support the border "this time", unlike the 1986 amnesty and 2006 border fence bill.
Nice work, Laura.
For someone who denied being given marching orders by his amnesty-supporting boss Rupert Murdoch to back the bill, Bill-O certainly has absolutely no defense for the actual substance of the bill. The amendment does nothing to guarantee border security before amnesty is granted to millions of illegals, and even gives the DHS Secretary an unlimited waiver to cancel any and all border security promised.
In fairness, when he endorsed the bill Thursday, O'Reilly had no idea of this waiver grant.
But why endorse the bill? Why the rush? Was it because polls and whip counts showed the bill was on the verge of collapse and his secret cabal were determined to rescue it ASAP?
Oh yes, that's right, there was no secret meeting, right? Bill denied it.
But wait...who is the one quoted by the New Yorker about this meeting that Bill said never happened? Let's see...
McCain told me, Rupert Murdoch is a strong supporter of immigration reform, and Roger Ailes is, too. McCain said that he, Graham, Rubio, and others also have talked privately to top hosts at Fox, including Bill OReilly, Sean Hannity, and Neil Cavuto, who are now relatively sympathetic to the Gangs proposed bill.Ah, so John McCain reported the secret meeting that O'Reilly says never happened.
But didn't O'Reilly just say John McCain is not a liar?
"The folks" who would be devastated by the 'Gang of 8' disaster are waiting for your answer, Bill.
Fox News....Bill O’Reilly.....are not conservative
Cannot believe how anyone considers Fox News “conservative”....only liberals think Fox News is conservative
Bill OReilly is a liberal socialist!
Dems/libs have got to be laughing behind their backs (some right to their faces!). We've done it before, folks! Look at the history.
I do not expect the folding-lawn-chair party to do what is needed and that is to say "border fence and security first, and then we'll talk about some kind of amnesty. The longer you (Dems/libs) stall on the fence/security, the longer it will be for your amnesty plans to secure more Dem voters".
It is important for this sad old dinosaur with rapidly diminishing intellectual capacities to be relevant. What he thinks of as relevance is really just the equivalent of feeding the dog table scraps.
I shut him off at that point. Bah Bye O'Really.
If Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, and Neil Cavuto all support the immigration bill of the Senate’s leading liberal, Chuck Schumer, how can Fox News continue to advertise itself as ‘’Fair and Balanced’’?
What a lie that is. Only by giving Laura Ingraham her own prime-time show can Fox News redeem itself as anything but another liberal network masquerading as something it isn’t — neutral or even conservative. At least CNN and MSNBC don’t pretend to be something they aren’t.
I’m waiting for Hannity’s take. I don’t listen to the guy so maybe he has already positioned himself. He, unlike BOR, thinks he is a genuine conservative but he is not terribly bright and fills his gaps by trying to figure out what the sensible thing to say is. I did hear his argument about the 2nd Amd because I was directed to it and it was ghastly. He reads it with several paragraphs of “sensible” restrictions and exceptions in it, right there in those 21 words.
I find it amazing that nobody connects the fact BOR’s turn to the left happened the same time he was sued for sexual harrassment.
Do any of you think “MAYBE” he’s been blackmailed all these years because of his NSA phone records?
He was MUCH more traditionally conservative prior to the harrassment lawsuit than now.
True true but it makes me wonder if he went further than that. It’s just curious to me though how all these people who were formerly hard line against illegals suddenly go completely RINO, as if somebody had “a little talk” with them. Don’t forget: Blackmailing people is Obamas forte. It’s how he won the Senate. He had his boy Axelrod get sealed court documents unsealed. Ann Coulter wrote a whole column on this last year. Not only is he an admitted foreign born twice unconstitutionally elected POTUS, he’s also a hardline blackmailing punk ass and because we have pussys serving in the Repub party, he gets away with it.
Sadly Hanamnesty as we call him has boarded the Murdoch Amnesty Lear jet along with Koch Bros ,Adelson , Charles Butts ( HEB), And all of Roves stooges .
The fact Hannity allowed Rubio to bold face every single week in his TV or radio show says it all.
The amoral phony lets that vile Tamara Hall who was named in a legal procedure as Jessie Jackson whore on his show and into our homes .Hannity used to mock Jessie lies and antics and he employs his whore on hi show and does not tell us ?
...and then came back the next night to host the same show and give the right Talking Points Memo.

Man, but if it weren’t for her, there wouldn’t be a photo under the dictionary definition of snotty, smug, Cosmo-style, east coast liberal.
Looking out for the folks again, eh Bill?
Friday night was a special treat... Wall $treet Week. I miss seeing Milton Friedman... Paul Volker... Malcom Forbes. It's sad to think that Louis Rukeyer has been replaced with some screaming lunatic on CNBC with an obnoxious soundboard featuring a "SELL! SELL! SELL!" button.
Anyways, I actually tuned in not too terribly long ago to NBR... 2009, I believe... Paul Kangas was still wishing everyone the "very best of goodbyes".
If he is such a moron, why is he so successful? The entire country knows him, he gets to interview VIP’s, he makes zillions every year, has graduated from Harvard. So what have you got to show for your superior intelligence?
I like his show because of the variety of interesting segments during the 1 hour show. Hannity jives more with my thinking but is not as interesting.
Don’t I wish I was as thick skulled moron as BOR! Then I would be worth Zillions, meet so many VIP’s, graduate from an Ivy League school, have #1 rated TV show for 13 years running, and have a bevy of beautiful women on my show trying to please me.
On that we can agree....that Laura is sharper than Bill. But I can’t ignore the facts...compared to Laura, BOR makes much more money, has a much more popular show, and gets to interview so many VIP’s.
I work for my family and no one else.
A 21ST CENTURY JOAN OF ARC, SHE IS!
Good. But she still flipfloped like Kerry about a year back. Trust her all you like. I won’t.
‘If he is such a moron, why is he so successful? The entire country knows him, he gets to interview VIPs, he makes zillions every year, has graduated from Harvard. So what have you got to show for your superior intelligence?’
if you think this guy stands for anything but blather after this....WHERE’S YOUR INTELLIGENCE....?
Walter Cronkite was a conservative too! /s
How much did they pay you, Bill O’Blowhard?
Did I claim superior intelligence? Where?
However, I'm not an unprincipled, lunkheaded boor who thinks he knows everything while constantly making a fool of himself. That's O'Reilly.
Harvard....he went there for one year. Are you so impressed by leftwing Ivy League propaganda centers? In my view, someone who learns a trade as a plumber or an electrician is better off.
Interviews "VIPS"..... so do the Hollywood morons on the E! Entertainment channel. You seem to value very superficial things.
LOL, how old are you? About sixteen, I'm guessing?
I loved every minute of watching “The King of Bloviators” get his a$$ handed to him by Laura.
SEE POST 136....
You are confusing success with principles. I never claimed BOR is a principled conservative. In America the general gauge of success is money. People like Buffet & Microsoft-Bill are famous celebrities because of their monetary success. And by that yard stick BOR is eminently successful. I am assuming you are not. I am also not anywhere near BOR’s success. But I have a feeling you are a much more principled conservative than BOR. Even though I have lead my life with conservative principles, I do not make it a habit of making childish fun of people I disagree with on issues.
Based on your posts here and on your previous posting history, that is highly debatable.
"I do not make it a habit of making childish fun of people I disagree with on issues.
Then don't do it. I, on the other hand, will mock that thick-headed, boorish, know-it-all idiot to my heart's content.
Kim Kardashian has made quite a bit of money, too....maybe she can be the next beneficiary of your breathless gushing.
Whoever said “watch what they do not what they say”.
Based on that my life is boringly conservative, in the true sense of the word. I do not smoke, do not drink alcoholic beverages, do not gamble in casino’s, never done anything illegal, never collected a dime in welfare, live within my means (actually below my means), vote for fiscal conservatives, back strong military having lived and visited over 30 countries, and vote in every election. Can’t get more conservative than that!
