Earlier analysis, even verified by God, reveals a discernment between desire, lust, temptation, and love (eros, agape, phileo, and stergo).
We all are born with a nature to miss God’s Plan. That isn’t an excuse for missing it, because He has provided a solution for us to abide by His Plan.
He also has provided a mechanism to enjoy the company of another person without being arrogant. It is provided by the male-female relationship, which also leads to familial relationships, which in aggregate leads to national relationships.
I think Romans makes it clear that it’s a choice or at least the consequence of choices. On the other hand, we all have to limit our sexual activity to some extent.
