Mike Zullo and Carl Gallups met with West at CPAC and showed him Zullo's most damning new proof that Barry is ineligible, but West declined to "take the point" on exposing Barry at the time saying that he had future political aspirations or something like that (IIRC).
Shortly after that West signed on with FOX News as an official commentator and I expect he had to agree NOT to go public with any "Birther" declarations...at least without permission of Roger Ailes.
While it is disappointing for West to have apparently agreed to stay silent on the forged pdf BC, note that even Joe Arpaio has been on FOX several times recently and has admitted that he has agreed to stay silent on the forgery as a condition of appearing on FOX to discuss other immigration related issues, recall attempts and lawsuits against him by DOJ.
Maybe West just can't take Barry's duplicity any more and is easing his way into calling out the forgery, but this one comment is not what I would personally call "going full birther."

Good heavens, there are much larger fish to fry right now than this. So what if there is ample proof that he wasn’t born in the U.S.A? who is going to do anything about it? Congress? Yeah that’s what I thought. West can’t afford to go down that road right now, especially if he has higher political aspirations.

Unfortunately Catarus, there isn't “ample proof” of Obama’s birthplace. Such claims are likely a red herring thrown out to distract from the truth stated by Obama himself. He told us, on his own web site, that he is a naturalized citizen, which is what the clause “native-born citizen of the US” means when your father is an alien. Barack clarified it further by telling us he was born a British Subject. He depended upon the ignorance of most, including myself before I took the time to read the law, the Constitution, and its framers carefully; he also depended upon the complicity of both parties, motivated because McCain as well had eligibility problems. That is why Republicans throw our Rubio, Haley, Jindal, Cruz, Haley, none of whom is a natural born citizen. That is why even Republicans tell you “because it wasn't defined in the Constitution”, sophistry because the Constitution doesn't contain definitions for anything, by design.
I also agree with you that no one in Congress has the courage to take the issue on. Nathan Deal, Georgia Congressman in 2009 did question eligibility and the White House response was from the House Ethics Committee which called on the the IRS to search Deal’s returns for over a decade for something to charge him with - it didn't matter what because Congress has all the money in the treasury to spend on bankrupting anyone. Never forget that they chargesd Scooter Libby after Colin Powell's guy Armitage had confessed. Justice managed to find an inconsistency between Libby's testimony and that of an alcoholic television reporter who died during the investigation.
The gang in Arizona have never brought charges, which kind of smells. They tell others to act while they solicit funds for their own investigation. I haven't see many trials where the prosecution spends months fishing with their presumed evidence, but never doing what officers of the court are bound to do if they really believe a felony has been committed. (Oops, no definition of “felony” in the Constitution). They appear to have redone the analysis Orly Taitz did long before, but she brought charges and continues to do so.

We will never see documents, and West has no authority to extract them from archives in which they almost certainly reside. The fix is beyond Alan West to penetrate.

What does that say about our President who effected Morsi’s ascension and who insisted that our ally, who kept the peace with Israel, Mubarak, resign, and Gadhafi, and now Assad of Syria, so he can replace them with the soldiers of his patron, the Saudi Prince bin Talal, representing Sunni Islam.
When the comfort of the progressive mandarins can no longer be guaranteed perhaps we'll see change. But that could take a long long time. Other Saudi Princes can be found at the vacations spots chosen by the Obama's. There is nothing to keep them from enjoying the fruits of petroleum profits after he leaves Washington. There are even golf courses in Qatar and Riyadh, where Obama's new CIA director, and protector, John Brennan, became a Wahhabi Muslim while he was CIA Station Chief in the late 90s. They all know, both parties, because both their candidates were illegitimate. All three branches of government are complicit. I find West’s comment interesting. It appears to me that West may be hedging his bets a bit - he is 100% politician now. The part I really find interesting, is that the only reason he might feel the need to hedge his bets in this way, is if he feels it may actually go somewhere. If it does, then he can tell people, “look, I was behind the people that exposed Obama. Look I even called him a usurper before it all broke out”.

Yes, and I said as much in my opening comment. But while West did not agree with any specific “birther” claim from the wide range of such claims, he did utter the word “usurper” which has a very specific meaning.
IMO, West is an extremely articulate speaker and knows fully well what use of this word, usurper, means which is that Barry was ineligible to hold office.
West didn’t say exactly in what way he thought Barry was a usurper, but given media anti-birther hysteria on the left it is none-the-less bold of West to go even this far, IMO. Look what happened to Paula Dean!
The rabid Obots and the MSM (I repeat myself) have worked hard to equate “birther” with racist and, as Zullo grudgingly acknoleged last week, the political consultants who advise all politicians declare birtherism to be a “career killer.”

West may be getting beaten up by some conservatives for backing out of supporting Zullo. West supposedly saw Zullo’s “secret” extra-incriminating evidence, so West knows what Stockman might be contemplating going public with.
If the new evidence from Zullo that Stockman is “committed” to disclose in early August timeframe is as incriminating as Zullo says it is, then West will look very bad if he didn’t get on board from the beginning.
Note that last week Zullo actually told backers to hold off on contacting congress at this time pending Stockman’s “big” reveal presumably of the new evidence at an event before the summer recess (early August).
Which means West has to decide whether he is “with us” or “against us” as this thing is about to blow up in the national scene.

This whole Stockman effort will hinge on how incrementally devastating Zullo’s new secret evidence is.
If Stockman can waive this new “bloody shirt” of “incontrovertible” forgery proof on the steps of the Capitol, it could be like the DNA test of the stain on the blue dress, or Nixon’s WH tapes. And at 58 years of age I have not seen one charge of treason. Which is why it is rampant these days.
