try LIBERTY MUTUAL INS. I left State Farm after 35 years and have been very satisfied with Liberty...no hassle what so ever. just hated to tell my long time State Farm agent good bye. but their rates for homeowners and auto went out sight... give Liberty a call, you'll be glad you did.♥

by the way...meant to mention...
I know several folks who work for Progressive Ins. and they make outlandish salaries..maybe that is the reason for the high premiums....never would buy them...

I have a suggestion, and I am not saying this to criticize you, I am saying this because I do it all the time.
When you write the info on the original piece of paper, don’t lose it so you have to go through this. I do that
all the time, and I always regret it. It’s as if God is punishing us for our lack of organization.

"Have any of you Freepers experienced this kind of "customer service?" Absolutely---it isn't that rare of an occurrence. I really feel people are dumber than they've ever been. And they vote.

Why would you even consider doing business with George Sorros Insurance Co, anyway?

I don't care if Progressive was half the cost of my existing company or ANY other; I ain't patronizing a company that I know is owned/run by Peter Lewis, the Rump Ranger.....

Better training for the reps is needed, apparently.

LOL Is it just me or do others find that new ad where the guy sings that long, loud note annoying? If I had a policy with them, that ad alone would cause me to cancel the policy.

I know working in a call center is a tough job. I did it for a while for a bank. But they trained us for a month before putting us out on the floor. I really don’t think what I was asking was that difficult; my request was pretty cut and dry. I don’t know why this rep had such a hard time understanding me.

Armchair quarterbacking, but wouldn't it be easier to say, I'd like to go with the quote I got yesterday. Can we go over the coverage one more time? I echo what others have said, call center work is a crappy job.
Still, I remember once I called to report that when I tried to send an online clothing store order to two different shipping addresses, it would not let me complete the order, even though at the start of the very large order it asked whether it was going to more than one address. It then required, as I selected each item, the checking of a box to indicate to which address that item was to go. The sevice rep insisted that with online ordering you could not ship to multiple addresses.
This went round and round several times, as I was looking right at the order site that said you could. I begged him to log on to the site to see what I was seeing. He just kept insisting you could only ship to one address. I asked to speak to a supervisor; he had to take my number so they could call me back. By the time the manager called an hour later, I had cancelled my very large order and redone it as two orders, one to each address. The manager was nice and offered to refund the shipping charges.

Yes, I can and should be more organized, especially in this kind of situation.
