Thanks to Jimmy “Camp David” Carter, the US pays the Egyptian Army with massive military aid, and Egypt’s pharoahs with food aid, making them our clients so they will hold back the popular desire to attack Israel. Obama isn’t sure he favors that, but we are paying them...because it’s an international stimulate program he can believe in.
The recent F16 delivery appears to signal the Egyptian military that the US thinks it will be around for a while. But the Obama administration wants to play down the coup, for four reasons:
1) It is not in control of events in any real sense;
2) To make it look like the US is not involved (thus SoS’s yachting holiday);
3) Not really sure it wants an Islamist regime to crash; and,
4) To prevent the American public from noticing how easy it is to oust an unpopular, corrupt, Islamofascist regime in a failed economy.

There is no legitimate reason for the US government to be involved with foreign intrigue anywhere around the globe when foreign intruders are crawling over the US border with the aid of Washington DC.
