More of the evil slime that is Obamacare: Forced, no-warrant home inspection raids

The fine print of Obamacare says “The 4th Amendment be damned, we’re coming into your house when we feel like it.” There is no other way to interpret what the allowable government raids of otherwise law abiding American homes will be.

Under the provisions of the healthcare law given to Barack Obama by the Democrats and Chief Justice John Roberts, government thugs will have the right to kick in doors and search homes in a number of circumstances.

These are by no means situations that would cause the average low information voter to shrug and acknowledge that “Maybe that’s not a bad idea,” either.

If some jerk in a government office hundreds, even thousands of miles away, decides your household is “at high risk,” he or she can green light Obama’s Gestapo troopers to...

Anyone who actually believes this is an Alex Jones type Nut Case....

Get out the tin foil hat...

We know they aren’t targeting Current and Former Military members...

We know they aren’t targeting Libertarian and Tea party members....

We know they aren’t targeting Home Schoolers and Christians...

Wait, they actually ARE....

When people like Mr. Jones are actually starting to make sense you suddenly realize that we as a country are very much screwed RIGHT NOW!

The links and text to the actual provision in the law have been posted here several times. I just looked, and couldn't find a bookmark for it, but trust me, it's real.

Hahaha! BIG GOV Inc. wouldn’t do this, now would they? When they are standing on your front porch, demanding access to your medicine and liquor cabinets, and gun safes, it will be too late.

It’s not like they actually believe in the constitution and always bitch about the constitution being a charter of “negative liberties”.... Negative to their (the government’s) liberties to take away your inherent rights..

The relevant paragraphs the author is referring to authorize FedMob funding of state-run child welfare services. So, the trampling of 4th Amendment rights isn’t the part that’s new. (that’s been going on for a few decades now) The new part is that child welfare services is now going to be Federalized with expanded FedMob guidelines as to what constitutes a reason for a “home inspection.” Some of the new criteria are things like ‘someone smokes tobacco in the house’ and ‘there is a veteran, active duty or retired, living in the house.’

There’s no doubt that the home visit program is part of Obama care. See http://www.ssa.gov/OP_Home/ssact/title05/0511.htm

And there is no doubt that the list of “risk factors” that trigger a home visit is rather wide, two of which are reproduced below:

(F) Eligible families that have users of tobacco products in the home.

(I) Eligible families who, or that include individuals who, are serving or formerly served in the Armed Forces, including such families that have members of the Armed Forces who have had multiple deployments outside of the United States.

However, Obama care requires voluntary participation:

(7) Assurances that the entity will establish procedures to ensure that—

(A) the participation of each eligible family in the program is voluntary;

Now it’s entirely possible that pressure will be applied in some fashion to encourage “voluntary” participation, but as of now it seems that there is no provision for forced visits.

GraceG:" It’s not like they actually believe in the constitution and always bitch about the constitution being a charter of “negative liberties”.... "

Why , the next thing they will demand to be quartered in our homes ; and we will be required to offer them food and drink ,
Didn't we fight a war over certain injustices an imperialistic leader imposed on citizens a while ago ?

You have overlooked the paragraph in the Obamacare law that says that participation by families is “voluntary.”

And, the visits will be conducted by states and non-government entities, not by the FedGov, although FedGov is supply grant money to support the programs.

It’s a bad idea and states should refuse to participate, but it’s not as bad as has been made out in the original article.

My earlier post on this topic has a link to the relevant Obamacare law.

Thank you. Unless somebody posts evidence to the contrary, I will assume, contrary to the article, that these criteria don’t even justify search with warrant, much less without one.

You know, conservatives do themselves no good when they hyperventilate over such easily disproven injustices. Boy Who Cried Wolf and all that.

There are more than enough legitimate intrusion on our liberties to protest instead of making phony ones up.

Are you truly not aware of how the ‘game’ is played with child services?

So, a ‘voluntary’ inspection team shows up at your house at 6:30pm one evening. S’ok though, it’s voluntary, you can refuse. And you do.

So, next morning at 6am child services (the real government agency) is there with sheriff’s deputies with a warrant. Based on an ‘anonymous’ tip. What do you do then? Remember, your kids are there and they’ll probably take them no matter what. For observation and study. They can’t be too safe in these cases so your kids will be in foster care until you prove your worthiness in parenting...

Yeah, it’s voluntary. ‘Voluntary’. LOL.

It’s voluntary in the same way OSHA inspections are voluntary. You have the right to refuse entry, in which case they will return with a warrant and a bad attitude.

However, as I understand this law, what is voluntary is signing up. There does not appear to be any mechanism to add people to the list without their requesting it.

Yeah. I’m suspicious of that too. It’s like the seatbelt laws that were ‘voluntary’ and you’d only get written up IF you were stopped for something else.

That lasted exactly 5 years in my homestate.

I don’t give this ‘voluntary’ inspection even that long. It’s way too tempting to use it to persecute political enemies.
