i don’t fully believe this... as much as i want to... i thought that about the Senate and got punched in the gut when it passed...
The UNDENIABLE FACT in all this amnesty appeasement in dubbing our “immigration system is broken” is that a device or system CANNOT be broken if you do not USE it.
Obviously, the current immigration control system isn’t working, but it is not working because Obama, Holder and Napolitano WOULD NOT ENFORCE THE LAW.
I told my congressman that I didn’t want him to do a damned thing regarding immigration beyond enforce current, on-the-books immigration laws. I don’t give a crap about Hispanics or what they think about illegals; I don’t care if new laws would ‘bring them to the GOP fold’. If they can’t see the value in conservatism, then eff them.
Any legislation that allows the lawbreakers, including children, is amnesty. Citizenship is just the cherry on top.
Goodlatte is playing word games. And does he really think that legalizing the status of the "children" without a pathway to citizenship will not be a political issue for the Dems and La Raza? And what do we do with their parents? And will this be a rolling amnesty, i.e., as long as the children get here, they will be legalized?
The McRubio-Schumer amnesty bill puts no age limit on the children. They could have been brought here 40 years ago and still get amnesty. Why can't the "children" be repatriated with their parents.
Bring back American jobs, limit the number of new immigrants.
.... and even then, I'll be sweating that last second.
Ain’t no such thing as “undocumented”—PERIOD.
The ILLEGALS here have documents—all of them—just not documents from the U, S, of A is all.
Their documents are from their countries of origin—like Mehhiccoo, Guatamala, Neecarawawa, Peru, Equidor..............WHERE THEY BELONG.
Goodlatte said the EXACT SAME THING in June, and no one put an obituary on amnesty...
Don't be fooled. The GOP-E is as committed as ever to forcing through an amnesty bill. The "citizenship" keyword is just a red herring.
I think there should be a path to citizenship, via a satisfactory completed four year tour in the US military.
As part of their induction *into* the military, they must take a written test to demonstrate English language proficiency and literacy, a written test on the US constitution, and must pass a military drivers exam. Study guides for this purpose should be made freely available to them. As is the case right now, they may not have any previous convictions for felonies or serious misdemeanors.
After four years and honorable discharge, they will have clearly risen to the level of deserving citizenship. If they choose to reenlist, and the military wants them, they will reenlist as US citizens.
Let me try this: These illegal sons and daughters here for over 15 years, over 18 years of age, can stay on legal status, but the rest of your clan, immediate deportation...get out!
