I doubt they'll tell stories like this about Priuses.
Thanks for posting this link and video.
Awesome.
What an outstanding video...except that they almost gave their dad a heart attack! The poor guy was clutching his chest.
(It is a 1965, but hey...)
I once had a similar car—a 1965 two-door Impala with a 283 motor and an automatic transmission. It finally died after I drove it a quarter million miles.
I just love this story!
Good feels from the video UNTIL the end showed it was advertisement for Chevy.
I still occasionally see an Impala from the 1960’s, especially from 1963, 1964, 1965, 1968, and 1970. I rarely see one from ‘66, 67 or ‘69—perhaps they weren’t made as well.
I don't know -- if you're the type to buy a Puss-mobile in the first place.....
BTW, what IS the plural of "Prius"? Priii?
"Prissies". :)
Like Pregnant Rollerskate (VW Bug), only more dimensionally-challanged.
I had a friend in high school who lusted after a Chevelle SS396. I wonder if he ever bought one.
Very nice, thank you for posting.
I had the same straight six cylinder car (right)?
Dark green given from my parents as my first car to drive (already many years old).
Saved my life when a drunk driver ran into me at a stop light going 45 in a huge van. Smaller car would left me in worse shape IMO.
Nice roomy car. Lots of fun.
Anyone have a YouTube link?
I bought one new in 1966. A 1965 model, that is. It used a lot of gas but it didn’t matter much then. Good video; good story.
Yup, a 65, round taillights in the trunk lid, my uncle had a non-SS convertible. But still a great video. Thanks for posting!
The best cars I’ve owned were gas hogs. Had a 68 Charger which used twice as much gas as the Vega my Dad made the mistake of buying. That Vega was such an unreliable a** bucket, my Charger was actually cheaper to drive. That old 318 and Torqueflite trans were virtually indestructible.
I got a 66 sedan sitting in my driveway.
Needs alot of work, mostly cosmetic stuff and some body work, but the engine, tranny, drivetrain, brakes are excellent!
Trouble is I have two other running rigs that need work often enough I’m just about carred out. Recently put new struts in my Nissan and last year redid the whole front end on my truck.
So who knows, I might just sell the Chev.
My ‘65 Impala was a V8. My parents got it in 1972 as a second car after our 1966 VW 1600 “squareback” was wrecked. A few months later, they sold it to me for $500.
Our family had had driven Volkswagens for the previous dozen years, and even though my car was at the bottom of the Impala line, it felt like a Rolls Royce compared to the cramped, underpowered VW’s.
had a 72 buick regal 2-door metallic blue paint/white leather roof, 454 wildcat engine.
