The Senate Conservatives Fund has launched $340,000 in television ads slamming Minority Leader Mitch McConnell for not taking a hardline stance on defunding the health care law.
Obamacare starts in October but Congress can stop its funding, the ad says. Whats Mitch McConnell doing? Nothing. McConnell is the Senate Republican leader, but he refuses to lead on defunding Obamacare. What good is a leader like that?
The tea party-affiliated group, which was founded by former Sen. Jim DeMint, has been pressuring members of Congress not to vote for any spending bills this fall that include funding for the Affordable Care Act.
McConnell hasnt signed a letter pushed by Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) that pledges to oppose any continuing resolution that funds the law. More than a dozen Republican senators have signed on.
If there was ever a time when Kentucky needed Mitch McConnell to deliver, it is now, SCF Director Matt Hoskins said in a statement. We hope he listens to the voters and finds the courage to lead.
The television ad will air from Sept. 6 through Sept. 17. The group spent $47,000 last month attacking McConnell with radio ads. It hasnt endorsed McConnells primary opponent, Matt Bevin, but has threatened to do so.
The group has also aired radio ads pressuring Sens. Richard Burr (R-N.C.), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.), Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) and Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) to commit to a defunding effort.
1. McConnell SUPPORTS RomneyCARE/ObamaCARE since
the GOP CREATED IT.
2. McConnell SUPPORTS RomneyCARE/ObamaCARE since
he, his family, his staff, and EVERY SINGLE ONE
of his Moslem friends are not even under it.
McConnell will not support a defunding effort unless he becomes absoluted convinced that not doing so will be pivotal in his losing the primary. Since that event is several months away, he probably figures he can slide by.
If he were not up for reelection, he would be lambasting those who want to defund as “irresponsible.” Right now, he is probably afraid to cross Rand Paul too publicly.
I tell you what all the GOP are doing: Protecting their healthcare ...... screw the rest of us. I’m sick of all of them!!!!! There are only a handful I consider worthy of my vote!!!!
