What does this say about the college of cardinals who selected this pope, then?

What does this say about B16 who elevated these cardinals in the first place?

The college was more liberal after his tenure as F1 was the liberal choice that got rejected after JP2's death.

You got that right. But a religion that makes something other than the word of God authoritative, allows all kinds of error.

The Bible is the word of God as understood and remembered by men a long time ago. If it were the direct and true word of God, then why do we have four Gospels?

“Why do we have four Gospels?”

We have multiple witnesses which both attest to the truth and give unique perspectives.

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God and it profiitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” (2 Timothy 3:16,17)

Jesus said “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” (Matthew 24:35). Luke 21:33 says the same (cowitness). I believe him. Do you?

Jesus said “If you do not believe that I am he (God the Savor — see Isaiah 43:10,11), then you shall die in your sins “ (John 8:12). What are you trusting in to save you from the lake of fire, the destination for all who die in their sins? (See Revelation 21:7,8)

Just my opinion, of course, but the Catholic church is about finished as we know it. They may go on pretending, but in reality, it's been over for awhile and the laity is still carrying the water. Looking back for the last few years of my posts, you would see the frustration in the leadership of the church bending and swaying to politics. This pope had to come on the trajectory we have been in for decades now. I've been mumbling about the number of Catholics voting Dem as we fight abortion and sodomy, but to no avail because the church has sold out to food stamps and illegal aliens. IMO, the church has prostituted itself for more bennies. IN Boston and other NE liberal precincts, Kennedy, Kerry, Biden, Pelosi, et al, are continually elected and supported by the church. If Catholics wanted to send a message, they could have at least turned on Barney Frank over his career. I agree much of this comes from Jesuit education, but the church accepted this in their ranks to the point we now have a Jesuit pope. Just take a look at the world church and you find the same thing from S America, Europe, and Africa. Maybe a little less from Asia.

I won't drone on forever, but I'm just sick that I have been warning of this forever and was flamed by the die hard laity that refused to see what was coming. The leadership of the church has been flaming libtards for decades and the rest of us have been in denial. The real question now is how long will the laity stay asleep? I don't think we want to let Jesus see where we are right now and the true Christians are the only cure for this. IMO, The church is finished as we will not voice displeasure with anything from Rome. Decisions need to be made for our own salvation. Staying with a fallen church won't save you. More weak knee'd statements are surly on the way. Women priests, married priests,...all the wish list from the Cafeteria are now on their way. It just takes time to completely fall to the deepest depths of the ditch.

For a pope to make this type of statement, for me anyway, just confirms what I'm saying. There should be NO ambiguity, in a salvation statement. It's written plainly in Scripture. An atheist has NO chance for Salvation unless he confesses Jesus and repents. In that case, he is no longer an atheist, just as a Muslim or Hindu, or Buddhist must repent and confess Jesus as Lord and Savior. To introduce the pope's verbiage into the conversation is just confusing to non believers. We can claim he was misunderstood and try to walk it back as much as we want, but it's really too late. The cardinals and bishops will try to cover for their choice, but really, it's a done deal. Enough from me.

The Church has been infected with Modernism, which was defined as a HERESY by Pope St. Pius X (”Pascendi Dominici Gregis,” 1907). Pope Francis has confirmed, numerous times since he was elected, that he is a firm believer in Modernism. Where does that leave us? With a Pope who is a heretic? It boggles the mind - not to mention wounding the soul.

The proponents of the Tridentine Latin Mass are the Remnant. It is very small, very persecuted, but there.
