Yesterday, the Obama Administration got real petty over the partial government shutdown, sending employees to barricade memorial sites around Washington that are normally open 24/7.
Thankfully, one group of WWII vets wasn't having ANY of it - removing barricades, with the help of fantastic GOP Reps. like Steve King (R-IA) and others - and refusing to be denied access to THEIR World War II Memorial.
Well today, another group of WWII vets plan to do the same thing at the Lincoln Memorial, as Weasel Zippers reports...
The same veterans group that managed to storm the gates at the WWII memorial yesterday is planning taking on the fences at the Lincoln Memorial today. This sounds like a capitol idea, pun intended.Members of Congress are reaming Obama over the disgraceful barricading of these open-air public memorials.Both memorials are open air memorials. The Lincoln Memorial is open 24 hours a day, normally. If you’ll recall, it was wide open to having someone throw green paint on it in the evening a few months ago.
So that means the Obama administration is making a conscious effort to spend more in time and money to shut off something which is normally open.
How ridiculous is this effort by President Obama to make the people “hurt” so he can blame it on Republicans, just as he did with the sequester, which was also his idea?
We still don’t have access to the White House, the people’s house, allegedly because of the sequester, although Obama has spent countless of our millions since then on vacations, parties and golf.
When you have the opportunity to pass bills for veterans and national parks,unconnected to Obamacare, and then don’t pass them, or spend more to close spaces then to keep them open, the reason is simply you want to continue to have people feel the pain.
And that, Mr. President, is sick.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) blasted the administration for trying to block the World War II vets yesterday, saying “some idiot in government sent goons out there to set up barricades.”
This morning those same "goons" - who somehow are on the job despite most certainly being "non-essential" - were setting up fresh barricades around major open-air memorial sites around D.C. (see photo below of their activities at the WWII Memorial around 9am).
As with his absurdly shutting off the "Panda Cam" at the National Zoo - which is already fully-funded by the Ford Motor Company Fund - Obama is using the shutdown as a political tool, just as he disgracefully did with the Sequestration.
Remember, during the sequestration - in fact, before it even took effect - Obama's DHS insanely , citing non-existent budget cuts. Those released aliens contained dozens of violent criminals, most of whom are still at large.
SWA salutes the "Greatest Generation" vets who stormed the beaches, for taking on Obama's goons by storming the memorials this week. We urge anyone in the D.C. Metro area to JOIN THEM, and refuse to be barred from the People's Memorials by political games.
People need to STOP referring to the NPS Rangers at these sites as “goons”
Every indication is that the “goons” are looking in the other direction, and in some cases actively facilitating entry by the Vets in acts of insubordination against the President.
What we need is a Tiananmen square tank standoff type situation with a vet in a weelchair in front of a government vehicle. A little old guy blocking a huge military transport vehicle would make a great picture.
If the Gubmint is shut down....who is paying these operatives to erect blockades? Union slush funds?

Short and succinct, those three words speak volumes. The Current Occupant now squatting in the White Hut, the supposed capital of that territory once known as “the United States of America”, is the puppet of agencies and forces not of American origin, and he is dancing furiously now, trying to shift blame anywhere but where it should fall.
For being a “Constitutional scholar”, he sure doesn’t seem to understand very much of what is contained in that document. Maybe he was just studying it looking for loopholes.
Notice all the workers are BLACK...It would be interesting to look into that little item.

Yes, the rangers are not goons. I’m waiting on DHS agents to show up with large weapons and scarey vehicles. That would make a big visual impression on everyone.

One onsite today said White House’s OMB ordered the closure and she and others were exempted from furlough to come and do just that today.
I wonder when some of them start to push back on these orders ?

The irony of our first “black” president’s actions seems to be missing from the discussion. The protest the WW2 vets are having is exactly what MLK advocated.
I rarely listen to Glen Beck,but happened to tune in this a.m. just as he was praising Rep Louis Gohmert (R-TX) (who I happen to think is fabulous) and saying he’s been trying to get him to run for Senate against Cornyn.
Rep Gohmert came on and was at the WWII Memorial (he and other Pubbie reps(including Michelle Bachman and Steve King from Iowa) were there yesterday and removed the barrier for our wonderful vets). As he was speaking with Glen, there was singing in the background and Rep Gohmert said they were singing Amazing Grace (it sounded like he was a little choked up). Glen said let’s listen for a bit (beautiful song and beautiful voices, so, of course, I got choked up).
There’s another thread or 2 that says that Obama (probably his or ValJ’s designee)were sending in rangers on horseback today and anyone breaking the barrier would be arrested. I thought I heard Rep Gohmert say that no one was there.
I wish my Dad were still alive. He went up to be with God in 2002. He was a lifer in the Air Force and served during WWII, Korea and Viet Nam(was in Cameron Bay). My nephew has his hat depicting all 3. I’d be there with my Dad and while I’m not large and a female, I’d be happy to stand up to the Obummer bullies! Might be my 1st arrest, but I couldn’t think of a more worthy one!
NPS Rangers are among the good guys.

The Park Service guys aren’t putting up the barricades. Those are the (probably union) goons of which they speak.

Many of the NPS Rangers are Vets. Yes, they’re looking the other way.
No wonder he has to steal elections and get opponents removed from the ballot... the scumbag has never accomplished a SINGLE THING in his life by the merit of his own effort, or by the work of his own hands. He's an elitist who believes he's owed these things, a child of privilege and entitlement by virtue of having been born half-black.
Truth be told, he's just a needy, unwanted bastard whose life AND presidency are both completely illegitimate. That he's also an anti-American fag is just in keeping with the rest of his sordid legacy.
