High Noon: Obama & The Senate Must, And Will, Surrender To The Heartland

The pressure is on, the stakes are extremely high, and the clock is ticking towards the hour of reckoning. With the nation’s borrowing limit about to be reached only ten days from now, the country and the financial markets are starting to freak out about the week-long deadlock over funding the federal government.

Very soon, the Tea Party and Main Street U.S.A. will prevail over Hyde Park/Haight-Ashbury socialism in this standoff over paying for Obamacare and for federal operations. Obama and his allies will blink.

First of all, our cause is just. Obamacare is not even a legitimate piece of legislation–explained further below–and we have most of the country on our side. The majority of Americans simply don’t want the 3,000-page nightmare of job-killing, checkbook-busting, bureaucratic central planning and control-freak tyranny that is Obamacare. And more and more people are waking up to the fact that their personal, private medical decisions will be handed over to faceless, big-government thugs at distant desks if the ill-conceived law is allowed to be implemented. Even Sarah Palin’s predictions about “death panels” were accurate.

Key republican leaders have repeatedly shown that they are acting in good faith by coming to the negotiating table with compromises (delaying key aspects of Obamacare instead of outright defunding it) and offers of reasonable modifications to their positions, only to be met with obstinate, bad-faith refusal to meet halfway on the part of democrats and Obama.

Obamacare was never a legitimate bill to begin with: The Supreme Court having ruled that the heart of it is actually a tax, and the Constitution decrees that all tax bills must originate in the House of Representatives–Obamacare originated in the Senate. Far from receiving bi-partisan support, it was rammed down the throats of Americans as a purely partisan democrat project. In its final form, not one single republican in the House of Representatives or Senate voted for it. That is not how honest, representative government is conducted.

Further evidencing the treachery that saw Obamacare forced through without the consent of those governed, one of the key senate votes to dishonestly foist it on us all came from a person who blatantly cheated his way into a U.S. senate seat in 2008–Al Franken in Minnesota. In an article published in The Washington Examiner on August 6th, 2012, Byron York reported that 1,099 felons voted in that race for the Minnesota senate seat which, in the final analysis, was decided by only 312 ballots. At the time of York’s article, 177 people had been convicted of election fraud in that race alone, with another 66 people awaiting trial! York’s findings in his 2012 article are nowhere to be found mentioned in the Wikipedia entry for that controversial senate election, which treats the entire matter as if it were concluded in 2010, with scant and dismissive mention of the election fraud matter, which in 2010 was far from being fully investigated and prosecuted.

Without Franken’s vote, Obamacare would have been thwarted in the Senate back in 2010. Franken’s erstwhile opponent in the senate race, Norm Coleman, would have supplied the needed additional republican vote to kill it dead, if he had been recognized as the legitimate winner of the election that he was in 2008. Some may recall that after the polls closed and the initial ballot results were announced in that race, Coleman led Franken by 725 votes. That was before democrat operatives started finding boxes of uncounted ballots in the trunks of their cars, all of them somehow for Franken. Surprise, surprise. Such is how democrats push their left-wing programs forward.

And that is also why the sleazoid democrat ideologues (and RINOs in the Senate) will eventually face their reckoning. Despite all evidence to the contrary, I still believe that there is a spiritual trump card called Justice, and that those in congress who mainly represent the millions and millions of Americans in “flyover country” do hold that card.

Speaker of the House John Boehner has been convinced to join and lead the good fight, as championed by the incomparably superb and brilliant Texas Senator Ted Cruz. Reasonable people are realizing that the staunch GOP hardcore opponents of Obamacare are working tirelessly on behalf of the best interests of all Americans.

Time is running out. With Godspeed and good faith, I trust that we will soon gain the begrudging acquiescence of democrats and their petulant leader, a man who has relied on underhanded Chicago-style tactics his entire political career. It’s time to call his hand. He has no choice but to come to the table and bargain, because neither right nor the people are on his side.

Yes, this is all optimistic. Remember, we saw that these people were willing to bring our nation to the brink of disaster during the 2000 election, insisting on recounting votes in only Democratic counties. In fact, many of them still insist that Gore won the election, even though post analysis, even by liberal news agencies, concluded that Bush would have won anyway had there been a complete recount.

I don't care much for the legitimacy argument as I don't think it will win over anyone new, but you are welcome to make it. I would point out that the left never got anywhere with the "Bush stole the election" cry, and they had the media on their side.

I prefer the tack that the law is not in the interests of the people, and will do the people harm, and therefore should be repealed and the issue revisited. I'm fine with delay-defund also for starters. And I love the shutdown and wish it would go for a couple of months. The truth injection would be massive.

Okay, but one key difference is that Bush did not steal the election.

It is not the law of the land.

It is the crime of the land.

He will not blink. Hitler never blinked. Neither Lenin or Stalin. George V did not blink.
The media is working overtime and constructing new polls to convince Americans that opposition to Obamacare makes them a minority at least and probably a racist.
John Boehner is NOT a TEA Party supporter but hates and despises them and true conservatives with a vehement passion. Not one of the elite Republican establishment like the TEA party or its supporters. They are working incessantly to find a way to give Obamalamadingdong everything he wants as long as they can keep their precious jobs and Obamacare exemption.
John Boo Hoo Boehner will fold like a cheap suit on a worn out lawn chair. Make book on it. He has until Oct 16 to grandstand this and being a politician rather than a statesman, he will. In the end he will join with Obamalamadingdong and crucify every member of the TEA party caucus because he is every bit as much a petulant little man as the President is. It is a done deal. We will have the same result this time as we did the last time.IMHO.

As bad as the Demoviks are, it’s really McCain and the RINOs who are likely to exert themselves in such way to end the so-called “shutdown.” The fact is, few in Washington care about offering a meaning alternative to the ruling junta.

do not forsake me oh my darlin’...

the reps in the house hold all the cards (the purse). as do we the people (the purchase). all they or we need do is have the courage to play them.

"The Supreme Court having ruled that the heart of it is actually a tax, and the Constitution decrees that all tax bills must originate in the House of Representatives . . .

So what?

King Barry has violated the Constitution so many times that appealing to it has become a bad joke.

We The People are the only teeth the Constitution has and as a whole those teeth are rotted and brittle. When I have one of the thankfully rare dreams that wake me up with a knot of fear in my stomach mixed with the shock of a friend being ripped apart 33 long years after my experiences I no longer have melancholy thoughts of why it is that freedom so often demands the lives of fine young men.

It took years for me to move from weeping to having a melancholy thoughts after such a dream but now I'm almost back to weeping. Weeping that they died for the "right" to murder infants in the womb, unlimited access to pornography, legalized perversion, queers "marrying" queers, grants of what amounts to Titles of Nobility to our "public servants", outlaw free speech, and the seizure major corporations from the legal owners to place their property in the hands of political cronies.

None of those things are possible where the the US Constitution is in force. The Christian morality based freedom our Founding Fathers envisioned when they created a limited central government depends on We The People being rowdy and then some in defense of the Constitution. We the people are so comfortable from generations of not getting involved and accepting the excesses that we should have never sheepishly swallowed we're no longer up to the task.

A turf battle between factions within the nobility isn't the stuff Constitutional Republics are made of. No matter how loudly someone barks, "Constitution", a huge number of people sitting out the 2012 election rather than voting for anyone but Barry proves there's no bite to go with that bark.

JMHO
