.........Ryan’s office said that merely convening a conference or agreeing on a budget would not be enough to reopen the government or raise the debt ceiling, however.

To open the government, pay our bills today, and make sure we can pay our bills tomorrow, we will need to do a lot more,” House Budget spokesman William Allison said.

A leading Democrat slammed a budget conference under the threat of a continued shutdown and debt ceiling default.

“What we don’t understand, and what Republicans have not made clear, is why you have to keep the government shutdown while you are having a conversation. We’ve been trying to have that conversation since last March,” Budget ranking member Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) said.

With all due respect to Rep. Ryan, I haven't seen any convincing evidence that he is aware of Congress's limited power to tax and spend.
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." --Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

You know I dont hate the rich or people wanting to be rich...I do despise their methods and corruption! Putting evil people in powerful positions to make decisions for the rest of us.

Smoke and mirrors...

Maryland is a hard core blue state totally dominated by extreme left Democrats. Many residents are fed up and voting with their feet. People have had enough.

They should tie the cr to budget conciliation and tie the debt limit increase to Obamacare since in six weeks a lot more lofos will have seen the bitter truth.

Look we are in control of the money. One strategy would be to make the ledges come back every six weeks for more cash and to demand a concession from them every time right up until the election.
