Rubio retreats: Comprehensive immigration bill wrong way to go...
YouTube via Drudge ^ | October 25, 2013 | Marco Rubio

1:01 YouTube video

This tells me Marco Rubio is seizing the moment and distinguishing himself (as well he should) from the RINOs who got their hooks into him and is running to the Right with other members of the party (thank you Cruz and Co).

GOP comfortable ignoring Obama pleas for vote on immigration bill "For President Obama and advocates hoping for a House vote on immigration reform this year, the reality is simple: Fat chance.

Thank you, Jesus, for prayers answered!

Rubio defended this indefensible bill months ago.

Now, I don't trust him. It will take nearly a miracle to change my mind.

Rubio has always been opposed to a “comprehensive” bill because he felt, rightly, that there were several different issues involved and there was no way that one giant confused law was going to be able to deal with the separate aspects.

Rubio is not quite stuck...he can’t go left, he can’t go right, he can’t go up...but there is still a little room to go down.

RINO Rubio is discovering the conservative base rejects his amnesty.

Sorry Rubes, the base has spoken and it ain’t gonna be you no matter how much you try to back-track.

Rubes exposed himself as just another amnesty traitor.

Rubio has burned his bridges to the RINOs. He stood by Cruz for the 21 hours. Along with Cruz, he does does what the conservatives need to do. That would be bringing in most of the Cuban population and other conservative hispanics to put together a better, RINO-free party.

Rubio thought he could work with Schummer and McCain and get a fair compromise....he got played.

If we're going to do this, we need to accept Rubio as a conservative who made a big miscalculation. We should put the wrath where it belongs...to people like Flake and Ayotte who totally went over to the dark side.

Marco Rubio is from the Astroturf Tea Party.

Rubio was the speaker of the Florida House.

In other words he was the John Boehner of that body taking in the big corporate contributions and forcing the rank and file members to follow his lead or else.

The dems want to be able to use the illegals as a push button mob.

They can get them marching in the streets like a flash mob anytime they say.

Agreed. I would take a reformed RINO for the reason you stated. He has to continue to deliver to the cause to keep regaining trust.

What are you talking about? He fought endlessly—first privately and then very publicly—for his amnesty bill that voted for and has passed the Senate.

Maybe I should vet my opinions before I express myself. I'm wrong. I apologize.

Too late Marco, you will always bear the scent of Schumer.

It won't wash off!

Rubio (along with many others - and expect those numbers to grow) is rallying (as is the country) to strong conservative leadership (Cruz and Co).

Let's hope it's true - initial fan as he said all the right things even though he was fawned over before establishing a real record. Dismayed and disgusted when he bit into the immigration "reform" thing even though he wanted to secure borders as part of the deal. Now hopeful that he really has seen the light -if he seems to be panning out, I'll support him, but you already know by Obama's continued presence in the WH how many "principled" conservatives will go...even if it means another Obama, they'll "stand by their principles" and blame those who thought that "anybody but Obama" was a plan to support even though there was no other choice.

I’ll wager Rubio knows this crawl back will be the only one he can credibly make.

Ok Ok .....

But he’s in the dog house until after the 2016 elections

AND after he makes a heartfelt apology to conservatives

AND after he writes a book about how he got suckered that also reveals how he has ‘matured’

AND after God says so.

I would agree too....

..but I am weary of putting my trust in a man, or woman....who will sell us out, who has tried to sell us out....and who may sell us out again.

There is forgiveness, sure.....but there is also discernment and wisdom of not being led over the clift again.

Isn't it insanity to make the same mistake twice, thinking you will get a different outcome.

Rubio will need to be watched closely.....

He can backtrack all he wants, but he will never get that gang of 8 stink off — unless he completely disavows them and comprehensive immigration.

Anything short of that is just politics and trying to reposition himself for 2016.

[Per some threads shortly after the CI bill passed in the Senate, Rubio got some $3 million in new corporate donations.]

After listening to the video, I conclude that he is just doing the dipsy-doodle fast-foot shuffle to cover over his previous overt position.

No Sale! Marco. I ain’t buy it.
