There is only one conclusion to draw from a Chris Christie vs. Hillary match-up in 2016...
The Looking Spoon ^ | 11-6-13 | The Looking Spoon

Posted on 11/06/2013 9:52:32 AM PST by The Looking Spoon

I'm really excited that Chris Christie got reelected last night in a landslizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

By June of 2015 there's going to be a lot of RINO hand-wringers out there who will say that Christie is just saying what he needs to say to be accepted in a DEEP blue state like New Jersey. Including sucking up to Obama.

I accept that argument...for New Jersey, but national office is a different story.

There should be an electoral college litmus test that says if you can't get the state you're from to support you then forget it...I don't see Jersey going for him over Hillary.

Maybe he'd have a shot against Anthony Weiner though...

Even if I'm wrong and he wins, conservatism loses. Nothing gives liberals more pleasure than to conflate the stink of moderate RINO failure with conservatism.

I'm still pissed at these ideological ostriches for fooling the rest of the (low-information) GOP primary voters into foisting Mitt Romney on us...

Anyway, now's a good time for a weird metaphor for what 2016 will look like...

I know this isn't the first time I've used Slimer...but this one is way more appropriate.

The Globalists and their media ALWAYS chooses the Republican candidate. It's clear that Christie is their man, so if he wins, they win. McStain vs. Obama, Romney vs. Obama, Christie vs. Hillary..

How do we stop this recurring problem?

Christie could never deliver NJ in a presidential race against Hillary. That’s why the leftist fanatics in the media love him. He can’t beat their girl at home, and when he gets in the bigger world of conservative politics, he is the kind of guy who will make Republicans sit home again.

Ain’t voting for him.

Not now.

Not ever.

Guess the GOP is doomed, but we all knew that anyway.

May as well keep pushing with the Tea Party - ‘cuz that’s the only party that possesses a modicum of intelligence, morality, and responsibility.

Christie refused to give Cuccinelli any support, helping to put a Clinton Operative in the Virginia Statehouse. Great strategy for 2016 there Chris.

Good point that the choice between these two probably makes little difference in terms of how fast the USA continues to go down the toilet. What I find especially horrifying is that after another three years of Obama, Hillary will be able to sell herself as a clear-thinking, moderate and ethical alternative.

Wait until the Left starts telling candidate Christie he needs to denounce the Tea Party and abandon any conservative views if he wants any chance of getting elected.

Isn’t there a picture of Christie and Obama embracing before the 2012 elections? If I’m Christie’s opponent in the primaries, I just run that photo in my ads during any Southern/Western primaries and he’ll be unelectable outside the Northeast.

It’s like a damn roadrunner cartoon with those dopes.

Remember all of the kissing up McCain got in 2000? Then again in 2008?

Like how the hell was that guy even a serious candidate? Ditto with Bob Dole.

Conservatives KNOW the scam. We’ve seen it employed for years, and we have NO EXCUSE in 2016 to fall for it. That means we get behind a candidate (ONE CANDIDATE), and we dont back off or split our votes.

We know when he or she wins the GOPEs will not give money or support, so we will have to have something in place to make up for that, and on top of that that candidate must not allow any of the establishment’s operatives onto their staff no matter how big their smiles are.

How do we stop this recurring problem?

We don't. If a young, intelligent, appealing hispanic conservative were to team up with a young, intelligent, interesting libertarian and decide on which issues to run on, the two together could overwhelm the primaries. If we had two people like that hillary/Christie (if it was obvious early on how the wind was blowing) would be old, unappealing, tarnished and irrelevant in comparison.

Don't think it will happen. We have Cruz/Paul, but they'd have to break with the status quo pretty soon to get it done....right after next year's election at the latest. But we have to slam RINOs hard. No more can they blame US for not voting for Romney or McCain. Blame the RINOs for giving us losers. No compromise with them. We can never work with RINOs again.

I’m going to go way out on a limb, and make a prediction for 2015- C.Christie, if still among the living*, will be the Republican nominee for President.

He fits the GOPe/Rovian profile of northeastern non-conservative to a Tee.

*I believe that he was morbidly obese, and while he has had an operation, and has lost some weight, and I do wish him well, I think his long-term health prospects are somewhat dicey...

We have to KO him in the primaries.

The only way that can happen is if the Conservatives get behind ONE candidate early. In 2012, Romney the Moderate, won because the Conservative vote was divided between Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, Michele Bachmann and Herman Cain. They split the Conservative vote and Romney walked to the Coronation. How about a Ben Carson/Ted Cruz Ticket?

You are so correct. For me there has never been a candidate worth my time or money - just the better of two evils. This won't change because the leftists are so engrained & controlled by factors way above a simple vote. They are always one move ahead.

Christie will have to meet the GOPe litmus test

Christie plans to win the nomination the way Romney did.

Do you remember Newt saying on several primary nights (paraphrasing) "Once again, Senator Santorum and I got two thirds of the vote..."?

Yet Romney had managed to win all those primaries. This is the Christie plan.

"Once again, Senator Cruz an I got two thirds of the vote...."

But most Republicans and conservatives will if he is the GOP candidate for president. We have to start working like mad NOW to get a real conservative nominated. They have the money, but we have the numbers. Conservatives simply lack the conviction to act early and consistently when it comes to politics.

“Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, Michele Bachmann and Herman Cain.”

Putting on your Las Vegas odds maker hat, which states would any of these candidates have won that Romney did not. In my opinion none of these four candidates would have broke 45% of the popular vote with today’s voting public. I contend, good or bad, that Romney won more votes than any of the others could possibly have. It may not be what we wish, but it is what is reality.

The ONLY viable conservative candidate we have, at this time, that could take it to a Hillary campaign is Niki Hailey.

But the RNC would never go for that. They could lose too many revenue streams.
