The Insiders: New Obamacare marketing – ‘Sign up and shut up or the IRS will be calling’
Washington Post ^ | November 21, 2013 | Ed Rogers

Posted on 11/22/2013 1:53:07 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

Obamacare was marketed to voters as a health-care overhaul that would allow Americans to benefit from lower costs and more options, and keep their current insurance and stay with their existing doctors if they wanted to. Well, for millions of Americans, none of that is true. As the truth about Obamacare reveals itself, President Obama has admitted that he will have to “remarket and rebrand” his plan.

How does the White House think they will “remarket” Obamacare to voters? Telling the truth could not possibly achieve good results. The truth reveals that under Obamacare, you can’t keep your current insurance plan unless Obama’s Washington likes it, you can’t keep your doctor or local hospital unless you are lucky, and that you will pay higher premiums and higher deductibles to get fewer choices. Of course, there will be no chance for appeal. New slogans won’t do the trick; voters would need to be hypnotized to accept the real Obamacare.

The Democrats’ sappy pleas that they understand they have to win back consumers by “fixing” what’s wrong with Obamacare are bogus. Consumers don’t have a choice. Americans won’t be using the Obamacare exchanges because they find the Obamacare branding and marketing pitches informative and appealing, they will use the exchanges because if they don’t, Obama’s IRS will fine them. The gentle appeals that we will be hearing as a result of all the “rebranding” and “remarketing” are just cynical, doe-eyed scams. The truth is, if you don’t sign up for Obamacare, the IRS is coming after you. Now that’s effective marketing. And the White House knows it.

When will Boehner step up and Impeach Oppressive Tyrant Obama?

What more evidence does Boehner need to Impeach Tyrant B. Hussein?

Maybe now that Commie Apocalypse Horseman Reid has destroyed the Senate Filibuster Rule Boehner will do his Constitutional Duty and Impeach Tyrant B. Hussein?

Is Boehner so stupid that he does not realize that he, Boehner, is the last line of defense of America as a Nation of Laws?

If Boehner refuses to Impeach Obama as a loose cannon Tyrant, will the Election of 2014 be resolved on the Battlefields of America or in the Ballot Boxes of America?

Could the Second Civil War be prevented by replacing Boehner with ‘fire-in-the-belly Trey Gowdy,’ (R. Sc.), as Speaker of The House?

I don’t know, that would probably be out of the hands of most republicans up there anyway...

But I believe the country could do without a Bonehead, crybaby with a gavel...

“Popcorn”

One problem with the watching it implode is that more and more good people are hurt by huge deductibles and premiums, or no insurance at all. Or part-time worker status. The economy will likely get shocked into recession worse than it already is.

The opposition party in Congress needs to move as one toward rescind and repeal. No tweaking and fixing, no waiting til 2014. No worry about being blamed. Crush it now.

Gowdy is being tempted by Amnesty money. He may need to be replaced.

True, but they would never admit that it happened. So, officially, there will never be another recession as long as the Rats are in power.

Does anyone ever fraudulently renounce their US citizenship to get away from harassment by the US government? I’ll bet it’s been done without having to fake one’s death or by stealing a foreigner’s identity. Exactly how though, I’d have no idea!

Frankly, people, I am worried---our president looked kinda wan and out of sorts yesterday---at his "Now I really, really like the nuclear option" presser.

Alarmingly, Mrs Obama told BET that Mr Obama was constantly in the bathroom---"singing."

I just hope Mr Obama didnt invite the Obama kiddies into the bathroom for a "sing-a-long."

================================================

I hope and (you should excuse the expression) "pray" that the Obama children are not being subjected to abuse and neglect.

Might be a good idea to get this checked put.....better safe than sorry, people.

“............As Jamie Glazov, a student of the left, has observed in an article about the middle-class defenders of recently captured Seventies terrorist Kathy Soliah: “if you can successfully camouflage your own pathology and hatred with a concern for the ‘poor’ and the ‘downtrodden,’ then there will always be a ‘progressive’ milieu to support and defend you.” Huey Newton, George Jackson, Angela Davis, Bernardine Dorhn, Sylvia Baraldini, Rubin “Hurricane” Carter, Mumia Abu Jamal, H. Rap Brown, Rigoberta Menchu and innumerable others have all discovered this principle in the course of their criminal careers....

...But they are lying. When they defend racial preferences now, for example, a principle they denounced as “racist” and fought against as “civil rights” activists then, even they must know it.

The first truth about leftist missionaries, about believing progressives, is that they are liars. But they are not liars in the ordinary way, which is to say by choice. They are liars by necessity, and often, therefore, without realizing that they are. The necessity for lying arises because it is the political lie that gives their cause its life. ...

...If you believed that others could understand your truth, you would not think of yourself as part of a “vanguard.” You would no longer inhabit the morally charmed world of an elite whose members alone can see the light and whose mission is to lead the unenlightened towards it. If everybody could see the same horizon and knew the path to reach it, the future would already have happened and there would be no need for the army of the saints.

That is both the ethical core and psychological heart of what it means to be a part of the left. That is where the gratification comes from. To see yourself as a redeemer. To feel anointed. To be among the elect. In other words: To be progressive is itself the most satisfying narcissism of all.

That is why it is of little concern to them that their socialist schemes have run aground, burying millions of human beings in the process. That is why they don’t care that their panaceas have caused more human suffering than any injustice they have ever challenged. That is why they never learn from their “mistakes,” why the continuance of Them is more important than any truth.

If you were active in the so-called “peace” movement or in the radical wing of the civil rights causes, why would you tell the truth? Why would you concede – even long afterwards — that no, you were never really a “peace activist,” except in the sense that you were against America’s war. Why would you draw attention to the fact that you didn’t oppose the Communists’ war, and were happy when America’s enemies won?

What you were really against was not war, but American “imperialism” and American capitalism. What you truly hated was America’s democracy, which you knew to be a “sham” because it was controlled by money in the end. That’s why you wanted to “Bring The Troops Home.” Because if America’s troops came home, America would lose and the Communists would win. And the progressive future would be another step closer.

But you never had the honesty – then or now — to admit that. You told the lie then to gain influence and increase your power to do good (as only the Chosen can). And you keep on telling the lie for the same reason.

Why would you admit that, despite your tactical support for civil rights, you weren’t really committed to civil rights as Americans understand the meaning of the term – as rights granted not to groups but to individuals, not by government but “by their Creator”)? What you really wanted was to overthrow the very Constitution that guaranteed those rights, based as it is on private property and the autonomous person – both of which you despise.

Since America is a democracy and the people endorse it, the left’s “progressive” agendas can only be achieved by lying to the people. The unenlightened must be kept ignorant until the revolution transforms them. The better world is only reachable through deception of the people who need to be saved............” - David Horowitz

Dems seem to think the "keep it" debacle has no longevity, and that all will be forgiven. I beg to differ...and so does Congressional history.

The "keep it" lies (and DOA healthcare.gov) is reminiscent of the House check-kiting scandal---which broke in 1992 ---- and lasted til the House election in 1994---when 77 members lost seats, even in safe districts.

===========================================

REFERENCE---WIKI EXCERPT The House banking scandal broke in early 1992, when it was revealed that the United States House of Representatives allowed members to overdraw their House checking accounts without risk of being penalized by the House bank (actually a clearinghouse).

This is also sometimes known as Rubbergate (from the expressions "rubber check" (bounced check) and "Watergate)". The term is misleading because House checks did not bounce; they were honored because the House Bank provided overdraft protection to its account holders, the Office of the Sergeant at Arms covered the House Bank with no penalties......AKA the "congressional check-kiting scandal".

The scandal contributed to a perception of corruption and malfeasance and was a contributing factor to major changes in the House, in which 77 Representatives resigned or were ousted in the 1994 election. [3]

Four ex-Congressmen, a Delegate, and the former House Sergeant at Arms were convicted of wrongdoing as a result of the investigation that followed.[4] Among these, former Rep. Buz Lukens (R-OH) was convicted on bribery and conspiracy charges. Former Rep. Carl C. Perkins (D-KY) pled guilty to various charges including a check kiting scheme involving several financial institutions including the House Bank. Former Rep. Carroll Hubbard (D-KY) pled guilty to three felonies.

Former Rep. Mary Rose Oakar (D-OH) was charged with seven felonies, but she ended up pleading guilty only to a misdemeanor campaign finance charge not related to the House Bank.[5] The House Bank investigation also led to Delegate Walter E. Fauntroy (D-DC) pleading guilty to an unrelated charge of a making a false statement relating to a charitable contribution to his church. The former Sergeant at Arms, Jack Russ, pled guilty to three felonies.[6]

--snip--

In the early days of the scandal, when the media began reporting on the loose practices, then-Republican Minority Whip Newt Gingrich, along with 7 freshman Republicans referred to as the Gang of Seven or "The Young Turks", made the strategic decision to publicize the scandal in an attempt to sweep congressmen with overdrawn accounts, most of them Democrats, out of power; Gingrich himself had 22 overdrawn checks, one a $9,463 check to the Internal Revenue Service.[9]

Gingrich realized that far more Democrats could be implicated in this scandal than Republicans, so he made the decision to make the identities of all of those involved public and "let the chips fall where they may".

Jim Nussle, one of the Gang of Seven, came to national attention when he made a speech from the well of the House while wearing a paper bag over his head to protest the "shameful" ethical behavior involved in the scandal.[10]

Gingrich pressured the then Speaker of the House Dem Tom Foley to ensure that the special counsel appointed to investigate the matter informed the voting public of the overdrafts and the identities of all of the Congressmen responsible.[11]

IMO, the house should be led by someone not from the house. It does not have to be a congressman at all. Someone who can verbilize a postion, not look like they are trying to duck under the table and one who has the moxey to keep the onus on the POS in the whitehouse and the one in the senate. There are any number of names that could qualify, recognizing they are number two in line to the CIC. Public commentators like Rush need not be considered as they are too controversial but someone with some government background, conservative, and willing to listen to like minded people would be best suited for the role. Names like Palin, Rubio, Paul, come to mind but there are a host of others.

Except unlike parking tickets there is no penalty for not paying the fine.

Now the IRS could harass those bucking the fine but if enough Americans do it then there is not much they can do.

The way you remarket and rebrand is you identify who is benefiting from the cross subsidization, and you sign those people up. They are your core of 30-35% of the population who you can count on to squeal like stuck pigs if anybody even thinks about doing anything to Obamacare.

Add to that 35% a few other reliable cronies and dependencies, like unions, government employees and welfare recipients, and you have 55% of the population that will back you up, come Hell or High Water.

You never even try to convince the losers under Obamacare that they are better off. You just fine them and take their money to give to your favored constituency. And if a few of them are stupid enough to vote for you anyway, so much the better.

You just have to alter your thinking. Obama is not trying to govern the entire country. He is trying to govern 55% of the country. The remaining 45% are sheep to be sheared. Or worse. Maybe he is growing us for mutton.

This is a personal opinion so may not be exactly the way the zer0care debacle will occur. (imho) zer0care kills Medicare and Medicaid. I think single payer is what is desired and single payer (imho) means all go under the care of zer0care. Should this be the ultimate goal of zer0care the democRATs will have done what Newt was accused of ... when the democRATs accused Newt and the republicans of wanting Medicare to wither on the vine. The democRATs will go for a twofer (imho) killing both Medicare and Medicaid with zer0care and single payer. There will be no savings (imho) and cost to everyone will double or triple within five to ten years.
